Chapter 95 - Bibi Dong Is Tired

The estrangement between the Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong of the parallel world had already been resolved.

Now, it was time for the Qian Renxue of the main world.

Here, Zhou Sidong couldn't help much — everything depended on Bibi Dong herself.

A familiar grand hall.

Zhou Sidong, Qian Renxue, and Bibi Dong faced each other in silence; the atmosphere was awkward.

Unlike her parallel world counterpart, the Qian Renxue of the main world was in a slightly better mental state. After spending some time alone with Zhou Sidong, and hearing him occasionally speak well of Bibi Dong, her view of her mother had gradually changed for the better.

However, there was still a knot in her heart — something she could never quite get past.

Bibi Dong sighed softly."Xue'er, please forgive your mother's past mistakes. Over these years… it's me who has wronged you."

After experiencing what happened in the parallel world, Bibi Dong had clearly let go of much of her bitterness. She was now genuinely satisfied with and cherished her two children — both of them pieces of her own flesh and blood.

Ever since the day her son had been stillborn, Bibi Dong had been searching desperately for a way to resurrect him. Because of that obsession, her attitude toward her daughter had mirrored that of her parallel world self — distant and cold.

Sometimes, people only learn to cherish something after they've lost it.

When Bibi Dong personally buried her son, and when Qian Xunji himself said "I'm sorry," she finally woke up to the truth — that her daughter had always been innocent.

Unfortunately, by then, Qian Renxue had already gone undercover in the Heaven Dou Palace.

Even though Bibi Dong wanted to mend their relationship, Qian Renxue had long lost the desire to try.

She had grown used to living alone all these years. Yet now, her biological mother stood before her — sincerely apologizing.

For some reason, Qian Renxue found she couldn't muster any hatred.

"Why? Why did you treat us differently?" she suddenly demanded. "We're both your children — why did you care about my brother but not me?"

That was the deepest question buried in Qian Renxue's heart — one that had tormented her for years.

They were both born of the same mother — so why the difference?

Was her mother simply a woman who favored sons over daughters?

Bibi Dong sighed again. "Xue'er… do you know how your father died?"

"My father? What does that have to do with this?!"

Qian Renxue was struck as if by lightning. She looked at her mother with wide eyes.

"Back then," Bibi Dong began slowly, "when I was still the Saintess of the Spirit Hall… your father — my teacher — was a complete scum."

Even now, when she mentioned the name Qian Xunji, her tone was filled with disgust.

"Shut up!" Qian Renxue snapped. "My father was also your husband! I won't allow you to insult him!"

Zhou Sidong stood between the two, completely unable to interrupt.

The tension between mother and daughter thickened; the air grew hotter and heavier with every word.

"Do you know why I hate your father?" Bibi Dong's voice trembled. "Because he violated me. On a dark, moonless night, in a secret chamber — only the teacher and his disciple. That night was the darkest moment of my life. Because of that, you and Sidong were born."

As she spoke of the past, Bibi Dong's tears finally fell.

Qian Renxue listened, stunned, her face pale.

She shook her head violently, her voice trembling. "Impossible! I don't believe it! You're lying to me!"

Then she turned sharply toward Zhou Sidong. "Brother! Tell me — that's not true, right?!"

In Qian Renxue's heart, her father had always been a towering, noble figure — one that could not be defiled.

She desperately wanted Zhou Sidong to deny it.

But reality crushed her hope.

"What Mother said… is true."

Zhou Sidong's quiet confirmation made Qian Renxue freeze in place.

Her head drooped. Her voice turned hollow. "No… Father wouldn't do something like that… I don't believe it… I don't believe it!"

Then, she broke down completely, sobbing uncontrollably — tears streaming down like pearls from a broken string.

After a long time, she finally wiped her tears away. Lifting her gaze, she stared hard at Bibi Dong."So that's why you hated me?"

"Yes."

Bibi Dong nodded decisively.

"Then why reconcile with me now? What's your motive?" Qian Renxue pressed coldly.

The emotional storm between mother and daughter was fierce — Zhou Sidong realized it was well beyond what he could handle.

Still, judging by the current situation, Bibi Dong still had a sliver of hope.

"You mentioned my father's death earlier," Qian Renxue said suddenly. "Could it be… his death was related to you?"

A bad premonition welled up in her heart.

Bibi Dong nodded slowly. "Your father was heavily injured by Tang Hao back then. By that time, I had already given birth to you and Sidong. My hatred for you was partly because of him, but partly also… because of myself. When I gave birth to you, it drained too much of my strength. Later, when I conceived Sidong again, my weakened body caused him to be stillborn. That was one of the reasons."

Qian Renxue fell silent. After hearing the full story, she no longer felt the same hatred.

If she had been in her mother's place, she might have made the same choices.

"I didn't tell you about little Sidong," Bibi Dong added softly, "because I didn't want you to feel guilty."

To protect her daughter from guilt, she had chosen silence.

Qian Renxue raised her head again, her tone calmer now. "And then? What happened afterward?"

Bibi Dong met her daughter's eyes. There was no longer anger in Qian Renxue's gaze — only a yearning to know the truth.

"After that," Bibi Dong said quietly, "while your father was still gravely injured, I took little Sidong to that same secret chamber. I intended to kill the beast who had violated his own disciple — to avenge myself, and to exchange one life for another."

As she finished, Qian Renxue's body trembled; she clenched her fists tightly.

"But just as I was about to kill him, he suddenly resisted. I thought he was struggling out of desperation… but then he said he was sorry. Truly sorry. In his final moment, he burned his own soul and sacrificed himself to little Sidong. That was the only reason your brother had even a chance to live."

Her voice softened. "When Qian Xunji said 'I'm sorry,' and sacrificed himself to me… I found that I couldn't hate him anymore."

Bibi Dong let out a small laugh at herself.

"Qian Xunji paid the price he deserved. And you children… you were innocent. After his sacrifice, years passed. Sidong still showed no signs of life.

At that point, I was exhausted — heart and soul. I didn't want to try anymore. When I finally buried my son, I realized — sometimes, you only understand what's precious after you've lost it."

Finishing her story, Bibi Dong sank weakly into her chair.

She looked at Qian Renxue and smiled faintly — a smile filled with release, relief, joy… and regret.

"I've said everything I needed to say."

She spread her hands slightly, as if letting go of a great weight.

She truly was tired.

Whether it was the daughter from the parallel world or her real one now, she had finally spoken everything that had been buried inside her. She was completely drained — even moving her lips took effort.

Suddenly, a warm fragrance filled her embrace.

Bibi Dong looked down in surprise — a delicate blonde girl had thrown herself into her arms.

At that moment, Bibi Dong smiled — a bright, genuine smile.

"Mom…"

Qian Renxue's tear-streaked face trembled as she called out that word.

And in that single moment — everything was worth it.

"My good daughter…"

Bibi Dong gently hugged her back, tenderly wiping away her tears. The scene was warm and full of affection.

Watching them, Zhou Sidong felt a deep sense of joy.

Of the eighteen chances he had to traverse worlds, he had already used four.

He had once wondered if bringing his mother to that other world had been the right decision.

But seeing this moment, he knew he'd been right all along. Everything had ended perfectly — every problem resolved.

"Come here," Bibi Dong waved him over.

Zhou Sidong's face reddened slightly, but he obediently approached.

Then, suddenly — bang!

Qian Renxue kicked him away.

"Brother! You've monopolized Mom long enough. Now it's my turn!"

Her words left Zhou Sidong half-laughing, half-crying. "Alright, alright, I won't fight you for her. Just wait till my wife arrives in Heaven Dou City — I'll go find her then and stop bothering you, Sister."

"What?!"

Qian Renxue's eyes widened instantly. "You already have a fiancée? Who's that vixen?! When did you two even meet?!"

Seeing Qian Renxue's rare flustered reaction, Bibi Dong and Zhou Sidong exchanged an amused glance.

From that day onward, Bibi Dong lived at Qian Renxue's mansion. With both her children by her side, her life became peaceful and fulfilling.

Happiness. Family. Nothing could be better.

Before leaving the Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong had spent three months there finishing half a year's worth of work — an excellent decision.

That meant she could live in Heaven Dou City for six months without worry.

During that time, Qian Renxue used the Angel Bone's ability to alter Bibi Dong's appearance, disguising her as an ordinary, elegant middle-aged woman.

That solved the problem of her identity, with Qian Renxue covering for her.

Now, unless Bibi Dong revealed herself, no one could recognize her.

Meanwhile, Zhou Sidong's soul power broke through to Level 58.

"Just two more levels," he murmured, "and I can begin the Trials of Destiny Nine Tests."

The thought of the upcoming divine trial filled him with anticipation.

"I hope it's not as torturous as the Sea God Nine Trials…" he muttered, thinking of Tang San's suffering.

Then, a familiar voice called from behind."Son! Bring your foster parents here — I want to thank them in person!"

Zhou Sidong walked out from his room and looked at his mother."With your real face?" he asked.

Bibi Dong smiled. "Of course. I already sent Elder Chrysanthemum to Salas to investigate. Your foster parents have rejoined Spirit Hall and have good reputations. We're all one family — why wouldn't I meet them with my true face?"

"I understand."

Zhou Sidong nodded and left his sister's residence, heading toward the Spirit Hall's main branch in Heaven Dou City.

Inside, his foster parents — Zhou Shijie and Yang Lixia — were now serving important positions, entrusted by Bishop Salas himself.

As soon as Zhou Sidong arrived, a messenger informed them.

When the couple heard their son had come to visit, they immediately dropped what they were doing and hurried to meet him.

Zhou Sidong had been waiting there for a while.

Seeing them approach, he smiled warmly, stepping forward to embrace them.

"Son, weren't you supposed to be traveling with your team?" Zhou Shijie asked. "How do you have time to visit us?"

Zhou Sidong chuckled. "I've been away for over a month — figured I'd done enough exploring. So of course, I came to see you first. Am I not a good son?"

"Yes, my boy is the most considerate of all," Yang Lixia said, smiling fondly as she stroked his hair.

"Dad, Mom," Zhou Sidong said seriously, "I have some good news — I found my biological mother."

The couple froze instantly.

They exchanged a long, silent glance before giving a bitter smile. The day had finally come.

"Congratulations, son," Yang Lixia said softly, eyes glistening with tears. "I'm glad you've found your real family. Is… your mother treating you well?"

Her heart ached — after all, she had raised him for twelve years. Now that he had found his birth mother, her role was likely over.

"She treats me very well," Zhou Sidong reassured her. "In fact, she wants to invite you both to dinner tonight at her place in Heaven Dou City. She wants to thank you personally."

"Alright," Zhou Shijie nodded. "We'll definitely come tonight."

Though happy for their son, a trace of discomfort lingered in their hearts — how could any mother have buried a living child?

Evening soon came.

After their day's work, Zhou Shijie and Yang Lixia followed their son to the Heaven Dou Noble Hotel — the grandest hotel in the entire city.

Located in the heart of Heaven Dou, it was a place where only nobles and top clans could dine.

Seeing where their son brought them, they instantly realized — his mother's background must be extraordinary.

Taking a deep breath, they followed Zhou Sidong inside.

"Room One, please," Zhou Sidong told the elegantly dressed receptionist.

Room One — a suite reserved only for the most distinguished guests.

With Bibi Dong's Papal Token, securing it had been effortless.

The interior was lavish, refined, and majestic.

Led by a waitress, they arrived at the door.

Click.

The door opened.

"Mom, we're here," Zhou Sidong said cheerfully, stepping in first.

Zhou Shijie and Yang Lixia followed, nerves fluttering.

Standing inside was a woman with long purple hair, dressed in a light violet gown, her figure graceful and noble. Her back was to them, but her aura radiated dignity and quiet power — unlike anyone they had ever met.

"You've finally come," she said, turning slowly.

The couple froze on the spot.

"Y–Your Holiness… the Pope?!"

Their eyes widened in shock.

"How could it be you?"

Their gazes darted between their son and Bibi Dong in disbelief.

Their son's biological mother… was the Pope of Spirit Hall herself?!

Impossible!

Bibi Dong smiled gently. "Why not me? I am this child's mother. And as his mother, I owe you my deepest gratitude — for saving my son's life that night, for digging him from the grave.

Without you, this reunion between mother and child would never have happened."

She bowed slightly, her expression sincere.

The couple panicked, hastily waving their hands.

They dared not accept such a gesture — the Pope was a supreme figure above all.

Now that they had rejoined Spirit Hall, they were merely subordinates; how could they endure such courtesy?

"I know what you must be thinking," Bibi Dong said softly. "You must wonder what kind of cruel woman could bury her own son alive."

"W-We wouldn't dare!" the couple stammered.

Bibi Dong shook her head with a sad smile. "After I gave birth to him, he had already stopped breathing. I tried every method to revive him, but nothing worked. On a dark night, broken and desperate, I took him into the forest and buried him with my own hands.

But fate played a cruel joke. Not long after I left, he miraculously revived — crying from within the grave. If not for you two passing by and rescuing him, he would've suffocated underground. For that… I'll be grateful to you for the rest of my life."

Her words came from the depths of her heart.

Indeed, if not for the couple before her, Zhou Sidong would have died that night.

Zhou Shijie and Yang Lixia were still trembling from shock. To them, Bishop Salas was already a great figure — but this… this was beyond imagination.

The son of the Pope, the Young Master of Spirit Hall!

No wonder, Zhou Shijie thought, Salas had abruptly halted the investigation into the boy's origins.

When he'd asked, Salas only said, "Everything is proceeding smoothly."

Now, everything made sense — Salas had known the truth all along.

"Please, sit," Bibi Dong invited warmly.

Though nervous and sweating, the couple sat down.

The table was filled with delicacies they'd never seen before — even meat from ten-thousand-year spirit beasts.

"The debt of raising my son… I can never repay it fully," Bibi Dong said sincerely. "Please, tell me — whatever you want. As long as it exists within Spirit Hall, I will grant it."

The couple exchanged a glance, then shook their heads firmly.

They didn't want wealth or reward. As long as Zhou Sidong lived happily, that was all they needed.

They had no children of their own — to them, Zhou Sidong was their son, forever.
