In the darkness of the night, more than hundred police cars spread out towards the entire city. There's also about 30 cars manned by special assault teams rushing to their target locations
In one of the police suv, Michizugawa is listening to the report of his subordinate as he prepared his rifle for the upcoming fight
"Sergeant, the other team had already made contact with the enemies. They're already fighting in the center of Toshima, Bunkyo, and Taito ward. The other teams that's heading towards Sumida, and Koto wards are minutes from arriving"
Michizugawa nodded and asked
"What about the teams that are going in the southern part of the city?
His subordinate said with a bit of hesitation
"The teams that went to Meguro and Shingawa wards had no problems. They're having a smooth ride, but…"
Michizugawa said
"That's right. It seems like the operation is proceeding as usual, but there's something about their inaction that is concerning"
He hesitated a bit and said
"How far are we from our destination?"
The driver said instead of the other
"We still have 10 minutes to arrive, sergeant. How do you want us to proceed?"
Michizugawa answered immediately
"Stop the car 1 kilometer from the base of our target. We will walk towards the enemy base. Inform the other involved in our operation
"Alright"
The driver answered and the inside of the vehicle turned silent. They're not in the mood to chat as they're nervous and concerned about themselves and the other teams that will fight in tonight's battle
As they got closer to their destination, the people inside the police can turn extremely nervous, they feel like they're heading towards their doom. As they were suffering from anxiety, the car reached their destination. Michizugawa looked outside the car's window and saw the place is deserted
It's like people know that there's going to be a big fight, so the whole street is devoid of people. He got out of the car and looked around. His teammates also exited the vehicle, as did the others in their police cars and looked around. There are about 30 police officers involved in their operation tonight in this place
The sounds of the bustling city is totally gone. They felt like they are in a ghost town, and that added to the dreary atmosphere, becoming more ominous
Michizugawa then said to his teammates
"We will proceed here now. Keep walking at the side of the walls and looked around, especially the windows of every building. Be vigilant. Let's move!"
Although he sounded confident, his voice was practically a whisper. He seemed to realize that he's also being affected by the somber atmosphere. Then, he shook his head and headed towards the walls
His teammates also followed him as they cautiously advanced. They're walking around pointing they're rifles everywhere even though they're not at the target place yet. That's the cause of the nerve wracking anxiety that they felt and the eerie ghost town that the city had turned into
After minutes of walking around the place. Every sound in their environment causes all of them to point their rifles at the source of the sounds. Michizugawa is really annoyed by this
'Shit! I'm even turning nervous because of them. I really want to end this now'
As they're walking, they started to hear faint gun shot sounds and explosions in the neighboring wards. This again added to their anxiety and became tense
After walking around, entering alleyways and exiting them with their hearts in their throats. They finally reached their destination. They crouched down and looked at the compound at the other side of the road
They saw a four storey building and it's huge. The building looked like a hospital and the lights are all turned off. The place looks like the scene in a zombie movie that danger lurk in every corner
Then, they put on their night vision goggles and they started to cross the road one by one. Michizugawa is really starting to worry now
'Why are they not still firing at us?'
They already entered the parking lot in front of the compound. Then, As they're heading towards the entrance of the building. Flashes of lights suddenly appeared in the windows of the building!
Ratatatatatatat!!
Michizugawa and his team were suddenly greeted with a hail of bullets as they hid in the cars that's parked in the parking lot. Only, not all of them managed to hide in time
"Aarghh!"
"Ahh! M-my leg!"
"Help!! I'm hit!"
Michizugawa and the others started to open fire at the window of the building. The oppressive silence before was shattered by the sounds of gunshots, shattering glass, and screaming
Pang! Pang! Pang! Pang!
Ratatatatatatat!!
Clang! Clang!
Shards of glasses fall down to the ground as the fight continues. Michizugawa shouted anxiously at the others
"Throw some smoke grenades!! We need to enter the building or we'll be wiped out here outside!!"
His teammates immediately threw smoke grenades between them and the building and the smoke immediately spread, covering them. The enemies in the building cannot see them anymore, so they just randomly fired at the smoke
Michizugawa and his team waited for a while before rushing in straight line towards the building. They didn't head straight to the entrance, as the enemies will focus their fire towards that spot
After they exited the smoke screen, some of them stopped and started firing at the windows, while many of them rushed to the front wall of the building. Only then those who covered their teammates ran to their location. Of course, many of those who stopped to cover their teammates died on the spot from being hit
Michizugawa saw the fallen colleagues who didn't make it and was filled with grief and rage. Some of the police officers pointed their rifles upwards including him, and started shooting at those who wanted to shoot them from above. Michizugawa waited for a while for those who were about to pop out from the window, but they didn't show themselves. Suddenly gripped with bad premonition, he shouted
"Enter the building now! They're going to drop grenades!!"
And true to his words, many hands extended from the windows and dropped grenades. The police officers near the entrance started running inside of the building, but were greeted again with a hail of bullets. Many of those whose in sight from inside the building got peppered with bullets. That goes without saying that they met an unfortunate end
Ratatatatatatat!!
"Agghh!"
"Kagghh!"
Meanwhile, those who were farthest from the entrance all got torn from the explosions of grenades. Many of the officers from from the middle got injured by the shrapnel
Boomm! Boomm!
"Agghh!"
"Ahhhhh!"
Michizugawa felt despair but he forced himself to run to the front and throw a flashbang inside the entrance. While he waited for it to explode, he kept firing towards the hands that kept dropping grenades. This made the enemies wary of extending their hands, and the rate which they dropped grenades lowered
When Michizugawa hears the flashbang explode, he immediately rushed inside the entrance and started shooting those enemies that's disoriented
Pang! Pang! Pang! Pang!
"Aghh!"
"Kagghh!"
The enemies attempted to blindly shoot towards the entrance, but they were all shot to death by Michizugawa. He killed six of them who's guarding the entrance. He immediately secured the entrance and leaned to the wall of the hallway and peek to look for the enemy. When he saw no one, he shouted
"All clear!! Enter the building!! Hurry up!!"
All the police officers who got stuck outside all rushed inside. Michizugawa took a glance at the police officers that managed to survive, and his heart sank
