Chapter 88: Water Blades Lead the Charge—Immortal Frenzy!
When Shikamaru attempted to kill Hidan, he'd used a pre-arranged wire and explosive tag array, wrapping it around Hidan and blowing him to pieces to complete the assassination.
Uchiha Tsukasa had no explosive tags—having used up all his remaining ones while demolishing the city walls.
But he did have wire threads, and he'd mastered their manipulation.
By manipulating the Earth Grudge Fear threads, stretching them taut and slashing with them, he could create sharpness rivaling a steel blade—powerful enough to sever his opponent's body.
As the original story demonstrated, while immortality was possible, once a body was dismembered, it became extremely difficult to repair.
Tsukasa had no time to waste—so his opening move was a killing blow!
This attack clearly caught Tōgō Hayato completely off guard.
His immortality wasn't perfect—which was why Hidan needed to perform the Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood.
For a jōnin like him, most of his combat power resided in his hands.
Once his palms were severed, he couldn't form hand seals or release ninjutsu—essentially becoming helpless prey.
Outside the barrier—
The Uchiha watching this scene couldn't help but blink in surprise.
Everyone was using their Sharingan, so they could naturally see the killing intent hidden beneath Tsukasa's acrobatic movements, as well as the extreme difficulty of this technique sequence.
Even Uchiha Fugaku was impressed.
Although he'd already formed a high opinion of Tsukasa's shuriken skills after seeing the remnants of previous battles, when he actually witnessed this display in person—as an expert himself—he was genuinely amazed.
"Aside from some flaws in his basic taijutsu, this kid's shuriken throwing angles and wire thread control are absolutely perfect!"
"In the entire Uchiha clan, only Great Elder Uchiha Setsuna can match this level of Uchiha-style wire shuriken manipulation."
He frowned slightly. "Could it be that this kid is the Great Elder's secretly raised grandson?"
The more Fugaku considered this possibility, the more plausible it seemed, and his gaze toward Tsukasa gradually changed.
On the battlefield—
In an instant, Tōgō Hayato realized that in pure taijutsu combat, a shinobi from a minor nation—even a jōnin—was no match for this two-tomoe Sharingan Uchiha.
At this moment, mortal danger loomed!
His counter with the jet-black spear was no match for the wire threads.
Seeing this, Hayato immediately released his spear and formed hand seals.
With the seals complete, he plunged toward the ground and vanished.
"Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique!"
This C-rank ninjutsu used chakra to transform the surrounding earth into fluid, allowing a person to sink into it and swim through the ground itself.
Seeing this, Tsukasa's eyes flickered. His Sharingan's vision revealed a mass of chakra swimming beneath the earth.
He instantly slid his foot forward, sending water spraying as he simultaneously drew back his last kunai and formed hand seals.
Rabbit-Horse-Snake!
"Water Release: Water Fang Blade!"
With a clap of his hands, a spiraling water blade materialized in his grip!
Tsukasa stared intently at his opponent's position beneath the earth, gliding along the surface like a shadow. He thrust his blade down with devastating force!
The blade pierced Hayato's skull, entering through the crown and protruding through his jaw.
Hayato's entire body went rigid, his eyes widening as he twisted his head to let the blade slice through his face and escape.
Burst!
He quickly erupted from the dirt, his face covered in blood, glaring at Tsukasa with a ferocious expression.
"Kid, you forced me to—"
However, Tsukasa didn't listen. He suddenly pivoted, leaped up, and slashed at Hayato's neck with a flowing strike.
Hayato's eyes darted quickly as he dodged sideways. At the same time, he multitasked—evading while forming hand seals with both hands.
At this point, they'd entered close-range melee combat.
The blade flashed, azure arcs gleaming with cold light. Tsukasa's sword pressed toward his opponent's vital points.
However, this sword technique made the five Uchiha on the cave ceiling frown.
One Uchiha immediately complained:
"Who taught this kid swordsmanship? It's terrible!"
"If he were using Uchiha-style kenjutsu, he would have killed this Yugakure ninja already."
Fugaku couldn't help but shake his head, frowning as he commented:
"His fundamentals are poor. He has no understanding of why a blade moves the way it does."
"This kid must have just awakened his Sharingan and copied various sword techniques. He's using Cloud-style with his left hand, basic strikes with his right hand, and then kicking like a street brawler."
"It's a mess with no coherent style. If he doesn't adapt..."
Fugaku's frown deepened.
"He's in danger."
On the battlefield—
Tōgō Hayato also demonstrated his mastery of taijutsu as a jōnin. While forming hand seals, he was able to dodge Tsukasa's water blade with head tilts, leaps, backflips, and sidesteps.
When not forming seals, he could even counterattack with vicious elbows to the face and kicks to the ribs.
But the reason he was forming seals was to create distance from Tsukasa.
This boy's shuriken technique, combined with those wire threads, posed a serious threat.
Soon, Hayato's hand seals were complete.
"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!"
He suddenly leaped back, gathering chakra in his throat, and unleashed a fierce torrent of water at Tsukasa!
This jutsu, while primarily defensive, also possessed immense impact force.
WHOOSH!
A violent surge of water crashed down, pushing Tsukasa back with tremendous force.
Hayato immediately continued with another seal, then pressed his hand against the water's surface.
"Lightning Release: Lightning Strike!"
A dazzling bolt of lightning traveled along the water current, striking Tsukasa viciously.
Tsukasa frowned as numbness crept through his body, slowing his movements.
Seeing this, Hayato's eyes flashed with killing intent. He flicked his sleeves, drew two jet-black spears, and hurled them with devastating force!
Thunk! Thunk!
One black spear pierced Tsukasa's chest, another impaled his leg, pinning him to the ground.
Hayato finally had a moment to breathe, staring at the pinned Tsukasa with a frown.
"He should be dead now, right?"
But remembering the kid's previous display of rapid healing, he felt lingering unease.
His expression darkened, and he formed hand seals once more.
"Lightning Release: Four Pillar Binding!"
The surrounding earth suddenly shifted and rose, creating four massive pillars. Lightning crackled from their surfaces, shooting toward Tsukasa at the center.
Finally, Hayato drew another black spear and launched it with explosive force toward Tsukasa's forehead!
The spear struck directly at the vital point!
The four Uchiha on the cave ceiling couldn't help but tense, ready to leap out and intervene.
However, Fugaku raised his hand, halting them.
"Wait. Keep watching."
While Tsukasa's abilities thus far were impressive enough to take seriously, Fugaku had a vague feeling this wasn't the kid's limit.
"Captain, what are you waiting for?!"
"He's about to be killed, and we're just standing here?!"
The Uchiha looked at Fugaku in disbelief.
However, the stern-faced captain remained silent, his crimson Sharingan blazing as he stared down his four team members.
"Watch," he commanded coldly.
On the battlefield—
Tsukasa could only passively endure the barrage of Lightning Release attacks.
In truth, he hadn't even attempted to dodge.
The black spear tore through the air—piercing Tsukasa's forehead and bursting through the back of his skull!
Yet—
Under this blow that should have been instantly fatal—
Tsukasa suddenly opened his eyes, revealing crimson pupils.
He actually stood up, spears still impaling his forehead, chest, and legs.
As everyone watched in shock—
He pulled the spears from his body one by one and swung them wide, shattering the lightning pillars around him.
Like an unstoppable berserker, he grinned fiercely at Hayato, his head drenched in blood.
"I told you from the start—your pathetic immortality is a joke!"
"You're still running around like a cornered dog!"
With that, Tsukasa yanked out all three black spears. The three bloody holes healed at a visible rate—flesh filling in, tissue repairing, skin regrowing.
Until not a single scar remained!
Tsukasa laughed wildly, his eyes blazing with ferocity. Spear raised, he charged forward.
"My turn now!"
