"Boxing, fencing, Klurkor, Muay Thai, martial arts, wrestling..."
"Whether armed or unarmed, regardless of the situation, I need not only a detailed plan but also the personal capability to handle any contingency."
"I once mastered a total of 127 styles of combat, but if you count extraterrestrial civilizations, my combat skills alone exceed two hundred types, all mastered to a peak level."
"Horsemanship, lockpicking, stealth, intimidation, hunting, hypnosis..."
"If you possess sufficient knowledge, every technical term you know is within my grasp, and every single one of them supports my plans."
"Psychology, willpower, spirit..."
In the central area of Bat Island, on the foundation of the unfinished Parker Manor, Batman and Venom Robin stood, low voices constantly drifting through the air.
"Alright, alright, Old Bat, I know you're amazing." Venom Robin was a bit impatient, but couldn't suppress his curiosity. "Dad, I can understand the physical and knowledge training, but I went into the depths of your memory before... how did you achieve the things I saw?"
"Training, learning, and the time required to achieve them," Batman said.
"You plan to teach me everything you know?" Venom Robin extended his long tongue and licked his own cheek.
"That's right, Robin."
"Aren't you afraid that after I learn everything you know, you'll lose control over me?" Venom Robin pressed. "Besides, I have the Symbiote and the contract with the Moonlight Birdman, which you don't have at all."
"It is the Moon God Khonshu," Batman corrected. "What I am teaching you has never been how to defeat me."
Venom Robin let it go in one ear and out the other. He planned that once he learned all of Batman's skills, he would immediately challenge this old bat to let him know what a mistake it was to cast him aside.
Except for the last time on South Brother Island when he kept calling out to Professor Connors, who had transformed into a lizard, this was the second time Batman had spoken so much since his arrival in this world:
"I teach you combat so you can control power, not be controlled by it. I teach you tactics so you can assess the situation, not indulge in destruction..."
"These skills are like the chocolate I bought you; they can sustain your existence, but they cannot define who you are."
"I am Robin, who else could I be?" Venom Robin continued to selectively ignore Batman's words.
"Of course you are Robin." Batman slowly raised his fist. "Come, attack me. Use all your methods."
"You asked for it." Venom Robin grinned. With a raise of his hand, a series of crescent darts emitted whistling sounds as they flew toward Batman from seven or eight angles simultaneously.
Clang, clang, clang.
Crisp sounds of metal collision rang out in the air; each sound represented a crescent dart being intercepted by a Batarang.
But this was just Venom Robin's initial, trivial attack. What followed was the offensive where he exerted his full strength.
His arms dropped to the ground, and arms made of the pitch-black Symbiote immediately inserted into the foundation of Parker Manor.
The pitch-black Symbiote matter wriggled and shuttled through the foundation. Thick black spikes emerged without warning, like bamboo shoots.
While the spikes were still surging from the ground, Venom Robin had already leaped into the air. The shroud suit on his body quickly melted into a cloak, and with a flip of the cloak, hundreds of Symbiote strands sprayed upward from his back.
Watching Batman dodging left and right on the ground to avoid the spikes, Venom Robin chuckled. Bright white moonlight instantly covered those pitch-black Symbiote strands.
In the blink of an eye, those strands transformed into hundreds of moonlight spears within the moonlight, raining down from the sky one after another, stabbing densely toward Batman.
That wasn't the end!
Venom Robin's hands quickly reached behind his waist, pulling out a pair of white truncheons held in a reverse grip, as if holding a pair of daggers.
While in the air, his feet wriggled and turned into two thick tentacles grabbing at Batman, while the dual truncheons stabbed straight toward Batman's eyes.
"SHREEK!"
A high-pitched screech erupted from Venom's mouth, and the piercing noise immediately completely enveloped a fifty-meter radius.
Just as Batman had said, although Venom Robin hadn't used every single method he had, once he acted, he unleashed what he believed to be his most powerful offensive.
Ground, air, sound, grappling, noise, glare.
A series of attacks were executed almost completely within a short one or two seconds. Batman, exhausted from dodging the Symbiote spikes constantly popping up from the ground, seemed to have no power to parry Venom Robin's other attacks.
Sure enough, in the next instant, Venom Robin relied on the tentacles his feet had become to ride on Batman's neck, gripping the short truncheons with both hands and stabbing down ruthlessly.
Ah!
Just as the truncheons were about to stab into Batman's eyes, Venom Robin's movement paused, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl up high:
"Dad, you lose."
"No." Batman's voice was low and deep, standing motionless. "You lost, Robin."
Venom Robin touched Batman's sharp, upright ears:
"Don't worry, Dad. I won't tell anyone that I, Robin, won a crushing victory in my first battle against Dad. I'll save you some face."
As he spoke, he holstered the dual truncheons back at his waist and shifted his center of gravity, intending to slide down to the ground while hugging Batman's neck.
But the moment he slid down, Venom Robin suddenly realized his body had lost control.
His strength, which should have been over fifty tons, couldn't even hold onto Batman's neck; his arms went limp and lost their strength, and his legs felt like cotton.
Thud!
Venom Robin fell on his butt on the ground, collapsing into a pile of soft mud.
"Ground control, aerial suppression, sensory interference, close-quarters stabbing." Batman looked at Venom Robin paralyzed on the ground, using his own shadow to shield him from the scorching sun overhead. "The idea was beautiful."
"But tactical assessment... Zero."
Venom Robin remained limp on the ground, having no strength to support himself to stand up.
He didn't understand what went wrong:
"Old Bat, what did you do to me?"
Batman frowned. He bent his knees and squatted down, reaching out to remove a patch that had been affixed by Batman the moment Venom Robin grabbed him with his leg-tentacles earlier:
"You still haven't realized this was on you?"
"What is this?" Once the Vibranium resonance patch was removed by Batman, Venom Robin immediately regained his strength, hurriedly jumping up from the ground and lying on Batman's shoulder to look at the silver patch in his hand.
"Vibranium resonance patch. It can form a specific frequency with the Vibranium isotopes that make up your body, causing structural dissonance," Batman explained.
"Wait, how come I've never seen this thing? When did you make it?" Venom Robin yanked off the human face mask on his face, as if the thing was blocking his vision, staring at Batman in disbelief.
Batman stood up and glanced expressionlessly at Venom Robin:
"Before we came to Bat Island, I made it right in front of you."
