Chapter 4 - The Beginning of a Party

City: Edrin

Location: SPECIALS GUILD

I was just sitting at one of the tables in the Specials Guild. It was still morning, so there weren't many people around.

I ordered a soup with meat and started eating. Food is really cheap here — staying at the motel too. Each costs just 1 silver coin, and hunting goblins got easier too. A week passed since I got sent to this world.

Hmmm... food really tastes different here. It's delicious! While eating, a hand suddenly slammed on my table. I looked up.

It was a female — black hair, probably 160cm, and brown eyes.

"Yes?" I asked while still eating my soup.

With a frustrated voice, she said, "Sorry for interrupting. But I'm searching for people who want to join my party for a Specialist Task to hunt monsters."Then, with a smile, she added, "Wanna join me?"

"What's the pay?"

"Pay? Ah, of course… another guy who just cares about money. If we finish this task, each of us will get 5 gold coins."

"5 gold coins?.. That's 50 silver coins…" I need to accept her offer.

I immediately stood up, holding my sword off the table."Yeah, I'm in!"

"Okay good, we need two more," she said.

"Two more, huh? Don't worry, girl — I have someone who might want to join. He's a friend of mine."While saying friend out loud, I just realized... I finally made a friend after such a long time of being lonely.

"Don't call me girl, I have a name, you know."

"Well, not my fault — you slammed my table, then offered me a task, all that without introducing yourself."

Her face turned red. She fixed her posture and looked straight at me."Ehm... yes, you're right. My fault. I'm Evin. Evin Minhay."

"Well hello, Evin. I'm Ario…"Wait — I don't have a last name... I didn't write one when I entered the system... I thought.

While I was lost in thought, Vino entered the guild and headed directly toward me.

"YOO ARIO WHAT'S UP!"

"Yo Vino! Where were you, dude? I've been waiting for you — I even ate already."

"Sorry man, I overslept."

"It's okay." While speaking, I turned to the girl."Look Vino, this girl— ehm, I mean, Evin — offered me a task. It's about hunting monsters, and she'll pay eac—"

"WHAT? HUNTING? YES YES I'M IN!"

I didn't even say the price… I thought.

"But Vino, we need one more person."

"Yo, may I join this task too?"A blue-haired, tall dude — looked about my age — stood up from the table behind me.

"I didn't mean to spy or anything, but you guys were speaking out loud."

"No, no, not at all, don't worry. And yes, you can join us on this task," Evin answered him.

Vino held his hands up and shouted with joy,"YES, LET'S GO! LET'S GO! I'M SO EXCITED!"

"You always are, Vino."

"By the way, ehm, blue-haired guy — I'm Ario, and you?"

"I'm Van Lormin. Nice meeting you, Ario."

Location: Outside Edrin

We went on our way. The task seemed to be far from Edrin,so we packed bags with enough food.

Two hours later...

We were walking through open land — no trees, no cities, not even villages in sight.

"So tell us more about the monsters we're hunting," Vino said, turning to face Evin.

With a calm voice, Evin answered, "It's Golems. They were seen in the mountains nearby — reported yesterday to the guild."

"Golems?.. Aren't golems a hard level to fight?" I said out loud.

"What? Nah! I mean, yeah, they're strong — but not that strong. We can take them down easily," Vino responded.

"Also, how old are you guys?" Vino asked.

"I'm 18," Van said with a quiet voice... He seems like the shy type.

"Here too, I'm 18," Evin said.

"Whoa! So we're all the same age! LET'S GOOO!We can make a party and register it!"

"A party?" I asked.

"Yes! If we make a party and register it, we can easily go on different tasks together. Hunting monsters and all that will be easier," Vino said with a happy face.

"Well, if it makes hunting easier, then I'm in," I said.

Evin and Van both nodded in agreement.

An hour later, we finally reached the mountains.

"Okay guys, let's rest here for a bit and eat."

We all sat down, pulled out our food, and started eating in silence.

I need to break this dead silence.

"So, uhm… what are your goals?" I asked.

Evin responded, "Goals? You mean dreams?"

"I want to be the strongest!" Vino said proudly.

"Me too," Van added quietly.

"Ah, guys — always wanting to just be strong..."Evin smiled, her cheeks turning slightly red. "I mean, yeah, I also want to be strong, but I also want to help as many people as I can."

Then they all turned to me — waiting for my answer.

"Oh, ehm, yeah... actually I also want to be the strongest, I suppose.Which means I'll have to be stronger than you guys!"

They all started laughing. It was a nice moment we all shared...
