Chapter 17 - His Warning

If I had known he was back I wouldn't have dared come to his room, it was evident he was displeased to see me.

"Where have you been? What kind of man leaves his wife on her wedding night?" I tried to change the topic " What things did you have to take care of?"

He just stared at me, his expression unreadable.

He took another step closer, his eyes never leaving mine. I could feel the tension between us, like a palpable force that threatened to suffocate me. My heart was racing, my breath caught in my throat.

"You're playing with fire, coming here like this and breaking my rules Princess," he said, his voice low and husky. "You know what happens when you play with fire, don't you?"

I swallowed hard, feeling a flutter in my chest. "I...I get burned?" I stammered.

He nodded, a small smirk playing on his lips. "Yes, you get burned. And I'm not just talking about physical burns."

Was he trying to scare me because it was working. I couldn't stay here. I had to leave.

Suddenly, he reached out and grasped my wrist, his fingers like ice. "I can't let you leave just yet," he whispered, his voice low and menacing.

I gasped at the sudden movement. I tried to pull away, but his grip was like a vice. "Let me go," I demanded, trying to sound firm.

But he just smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "Or else what? What will you do? He said amused."Coming here was a bad idea Princess," he said, his voice dripping with warning. "I don't think I can control my demons with you being here looking like a prey."

With that, he pulled me closer, his eyes locked on mine, and I felt a spark of fear ignite within me. What was he going to do? I knew I was trapped.
