Chapter 15 - What To Do With Power

Mechron City.

His brows furrowed as he tried to piece together the bits of information he had heard here and there.

"I don't know much about it," he answered.

"Except that it's called the Slum of Nvidia."

Huuuuuu.

"Slum of Nvidia, huh." She mused before asking, "Why is it called that?"

"Because there's no order in it," Everearn replied.

"It's the only city in Nvidia unclaimed by any organization."

The Mech Organizations weren't just regular companies producing mechs.

They were powerhouses that controlled cities.

The city he was from, Eloscious City, was claimed by three Mech Organizations.

The Mechara Organization, which he worked for...formerly, was one of them.

He had never left Eloscious City before, but he knew the same was true for most other cities, all except Mechron City.

It was lawless, with no Mech Organization in control, and thus regarded as the Slum of Nvidia.

It was probably still stuck in the past, as without a ruling Organization, there wouldn't be much budget poured into it, nor any real push for new technology.

"Is this your first time moving to a different city?" she asked, and Everlearn nodded.

Huuuuuuuuu

"Then you still have a lot to learn."

"Sit tight," she warned, flinging away the fully burnt cigarette stick in her hand and gripping the wheels tight as her foot slammed down on the accelerator.

The world instantly blurred around Everlearn, who shut his eyes tight.

They were moving fast… too fast.

When he cracked an eye open to look at her, he noticed her expression shifting from cold to focused, the acceleration only increasing.

Nothing he said would slow her down, and truthfully, he didn't want her to.

The sooner they reached a place with people, the better.

With nothing else to do but grit his teeth and keep from being reduced to a pancake against the seat, Everlearn commanded in his mind:

'Initiate MDS Protocol.'

Through his quests so far, Everlearn had leveled up a total of three times.

Each level up granted +5 to all stats automatically, the system's bonus, and he also earned 15 attribute points per level.

He had spread those evenly across his growth, and now all his stats were perfectly balanced.

"40 stats now."

"I initially was at 10, meaning the average human kid would have around 10 points in strength."

"An adult should be around twice as strong, meaning they would probably have 20 stat points."

"So 40 would mean twice a human's adult strength," Everlearn thought, a glint in his eyes.

Such power was normally only possible by fusing with Cores, amplifying the body with bionic fluid, or using mech gear.

Yet here he was, without a drop of bionic fluid in his skin or a Core beating in his chest, and still as superhuman as any Corer.

It was simply… magical.

And speaking of mechs, his Mechano Creatio skill had also undergone massive changes.

Everlearn had been receiving Ability Upgrade Cards with each level and had been pouring all of them into his single skill.

Now, it had risen well past level 1.

MECHA DEVOURER CLASS SKILLS

— Rooted in the system's Original Abilities —════════════════════

🔹 [Mechano Creatio] [Level: 5]

The user can restructure matter and energy into advanced mecha-based technology and proto-mechs.

Capabilities at this level include:

— Near-instant reconfiguration of raw materials into complex mechanical constructs (weapons, armor, drones).

— Ability to integrate energy circuits and rune-tech systems into creations, granting them enhanced durability, sharpness, and basic energy functions.

— Scaling in size and complexity: can forge multi-part mechanical weapons (like rifles, cannons, or mechanized bows) if materials and energy are available.

— Efficiency increase: consumes less energy per construct compared to earlier levels, and constructs last longer without destabilizing.

Note: Full sentient mechs or battle-suits remain impossible at this level; those lie in higher advancements of the skill.

══════════════════════════════════════════

This wasn't a magical skill anymore.

It was the ultimate Mech Design skill, and the sheer functionality of it made Everlearn's breath quicken

He already had ideas for what he could build with this power, but in the forest, his options had been severely limited.

There was only so much he could create with crude organic tools.

That was why he needed to reach a city.

There, scraps and discarded pieces of tech would be everywhere, ready for him to rebuild and reshape.

This would be his path.

He might only have an FFF Grade talent, but with this skill, he could craft mechs specially made for him without needing Cores to function.

And with enough leveling, it was only a matter of time before he surpassed any Corer, with mech creations more powerful than even those of Mech Designers.

[You keep trying to grow more powerful.] The system blinked before him.

[Why?]

[What do you plan on doing with your power?]

It was a question that Everlearn already had the answer to.

'The first thing I will do after gaining enough power is go after the one who killed me: Mech Eva!'

'She is a full Corer that has fused with a Mecha X Core, and now that she has 'succeeded', she must have fused with her reward, a Grade W core.'

'That Mecha X Core was designed by us!'

'I for one spent endless nights on that project, believing I was working towards something that could help humanity.'

'And what was I repaid with? A thank you? Money? No!'

'It was a scythe through the head...the same for all of them.'

Everlearn's thoughts burned, memories flashing of the time he had spent with the others on the project.

He hadn't known many of them personally, but they were brilliant people who, like him, were obsessed with creating mechs for the betterment of humanity.

They were good people, yet they had been slaughtered like chickens, their hard work buried with them, their dreams left forever unfulfilled.

Everlearns' fist silently clenched, both his eyes opening as he looked out the window.

'I will repay that betrayal in full.'

'Mech Eva, and whoever had sent her to slaughter us.'

"I'll hunt down every last one of them and rip through their heads...soon."
