The room was silent except for the steady strum of my heartbeat, which I could literally hear. The curtains fluttered as the wind glided into the room through the open window, and the puppy sat on the floor, playing with its paws.

And I? I stared at his back that was turned to me. He began to walk to the door, not sparing a glance back.

"I was with Clara, safe, and…"

"Safe?!" Dominic growled. I flinched, clenching the duvet tightly, my eyes widened with fear as I locked mine onto his furious ones.

"You were barely safe in that place, Harper. Do you even remember half the things that happened?!" He grunted, glaring at me.

"Does it matter?" I muttered under my breath, flushing. I fingered the seam of the duvet before mumbling. "It's just a club. I don't know why you're getting mad suddenly."

"Just a club, and you were grinding into some men? They had their hands all over your body while you danced like a total whore and a woman without dignity!" He snarled.
