Chapter 79 - You and I stick together

A job?

My head reeled as I stared at Dominic. The anger simmering inside me slowly gave way to surprise, then confusion.

How was he offering me a job when I wasn't even sure he had one himself?

To be honest, I'd only ever seen Dominic in the house. Doing absolutely nothing. Maybe sleeping most of the day, or showing up in the living room—usually when I was there—and, well…we both knew what usually followed.

I shook my head, trying to clear the sudden flood of wicked thoughts that surfaced. I opened my mouth to speak, but Dominic beat me to it.

"Don't ask," he said, his tone dry. "I can practically hear the wheels turning in that head of yours. And those judgy eyes? Hard to miss."

"I'm not judging," I muttered, though my glare said otherwise. Still, I asked the question anyway. "How do you plan to give me a job when you're…"

"Jobless?" He finished for me.

I flushed but gave a slight nod.
