It had only been five days since I took over as boss, and already two directors had resigned. One was under investigation. Another hadn't shown up since the announcement.
Not that I cared.
Honestly, I didn't mind them leaving. I had considered firing them myself, but instead of acting on impulse, I decided to wait, watch how things unfolded before making my move.
They made my job a lot easier.
Still, that wasn't what had my attention right now.
All I could think about was Harper and her confession two days ago.
It wasn't the first time she'd said she loved me. By now, she'd long since crossed the line we agreed never to cross. We weren't supposed to fall for each other. Hell, we weren't even supposed to feel anything close to that.
But with Harper, I couldn't even blame her. It was on me.
I let her in.
