I came awake to a pounding head and the soft sound of music playing in the background.
Groaning, I twisted on the bed, one arm stretching out, half reaching for the alarm now blaring in the room and half searching for my phone, which was ringing too.

My eyes flew open. I blinked rapidly, trying to clear the haze in my vision as I focused on the figure on the bed with me, silently praying it wasn't who I thought it was.
"Baby," she whispered. "Can you turn off that alarm? I'm trying to sleep."

My vision cleared, and my throat locked as I finally saw her.
