HARPER
My eyes widened as I looked at the door, staring at Lila. I shot upright and yanked the duvet from beneath me, tossing it toward Julian.
He caught it easily and wrapped it around his lower body.
I scoffed, rolling my eyes. I wanted him to cover his upper body too because it wasn't just Lila who had walked in.
Clara was here as well.
She stood frozen in the middle of the room, completely forgetting she was supposed to catch Lila. Her eyes were wide, locked on Julian's bare torso.
Yes, I minded the way she was staring at him like he was something on display, but I knew she meant no harm.
Any desire I had felt moments ago vanished instantly. This was another reason Julian and I struggled to be intimate. The children were relentless.
They always found a way to interrupt. And when they didn't, we were usually too exhausted to even try.
