Chapter 232 - Insecure

As soon as we stepped inside, the mood between us shifted.

Julian let go of my hand. He walked toward the center of the room without sparing me a glance.

I watched him move around restlessly, with no clear direction, before he stopped, stared at the wall, then began to pace again.

All the while, he still refused to look at me.

He walked to the wardrobe, touched the handle, and opened it. That was when I finally spoke, breaking the silence.

"Are you mad at me again?" I asked.

Julian spun around, his eyes flashing wildly. "Why should I be? Unless there is something you are not telling me?"

I flinched at the harshness of his voice. The accusation behind it ran deep, and the look he shot at me made my stomach twist.

"I told you everything you need to know," I murmured, shifting from one foot to the other. My gaze drifted to the door that led to the children's room. The handle twisted, and I instinctively moved toward it, gripping it lightly.
