Clara's pulse hammered against her throat as she swept her gaze across the empty house. Nothing but silence and the trembling housemaid greeted her frantic search. When the girl remained frozen in place, Clara lunged forward and grabbed her shoulders roughly.
"Where did they go? Tell me now!" The desperation in her voice cracked like breaking glass.
The housemaid jerked backward, her jaw clenched tight. A low sound rumbled from her chest. These humans had no idea she possessed strength beyond their comprehension, even as an omega. She stepped away deliberately.
"I already told you. They never said where they were going."
"This is pointless," Daniela snapped, her patience shredding. "We're wasting precious time here."
