The Shaman's urgent summons had torn me away from Seraphine the night before. Leaving her side felt like ripping away part of my soul, but the mystery surrounding her birthmark demanded answers.

Each passing day in her presence intensified my hunger. A relentless ache coiled through my chest like a serpent refusing to release its grip. Federico paced restlessly beneath my skin, a caged predator demanding what belonged to us. Her scent wrapped around me like silken chains, a sweet torment I never wanted to break free from. When those soft gray eyes met mine with their silent promise of submission, every fiber of my being screamed to claim her.

Fear clawed at my insides with razor-sharp talons. What if her body rejected my mark? The burning need consuming me grew more unbearable each moment. Every second she remained unmarked felt like watching victory slip through my fingers.
