Seraphine's POV
Becky advanced toward me, her imposing figure casting a shadow over my trembling form. Her eyes blazed with malicious intent as she leaned down, bringing her face dangerously close to mine.
"You made a grave mistake crossing me, Seraphine," she hissed through clenched teeth. "Once you're out of the picture, he'll need someone to fulfill his desires. And I'll be right there, ready and willing. No wolf in this pack has ever dared to challenge me. What makes you think you're special? Tonight, I'll be back in his arms, in his bed, while you're rotting in the ground. I didn't wait all this time just to watch some pathetic omega breeder steal my place in a single day."
The taste of copper flooded my mouth, metallic and bitter. The fractured ribs she had inflicted upon me earlier must have caused internal bleeding. The pack members surrounding us erupted in cruel laughter, their voices blending into a chorus of mockery.
