Arthur sat in his office as usual, and he checked over documents, half paying attention. The rest was nice, but unbearably boring. Arthur turned to a corner of the office, and he saw a shadow waving at him. He waved back, and it vanished. It seems Sunny returned from his first scouting operation. Obviously, in a nice mood, judging by the greeting. Arthur looked at his papers once again, a frown forming on his pale face. He marked down another paper and another and another. Finally, Arthur let out a groan.
"What am I doing behind a desk?" He silently asked no one. Arthur pet out another groan, finally bored with the vile creatures known as paperwork. He stood up, stretching his arms high and wide. Then he left and soon arrived at his destination: a coffee machine. Luckily, it was free for masters, and Arthur took full advantage of that.
Immediately he got four cups, impatiently waiting for them to be filled up. Finally a *ping* sounded out, the machine signaling it was done. Arthur quickly picked up the coffees, sliding them into a holder. Then he was on his way towards the meeting room. He ignored the whispers around him, deeming them unimportant. But if he would of listened, he wouldn't be bringing coffee to the meeting.
Soon he arrived at the large sicular room, his presence noted by all. Arthur looked around, immediately spotting Sunny next to Jet, as per usual.
He walked over, giving a smile to the duo.
Then Arthur chuckled, "Did you two start dating?" Sunny sputtered, Jet only sending a humorous glare towards the blonde man. Arthur laughed harder, his eternal boredom eased. Then he handed a coffee to each master, talking small talk. Sunny especially seemed pleased with his first mission, not running into any errors. Sunny had indeed picked out great teammates after all. Jet was seemingly still stationed here, her abilities highly valued just like Arthur's own. Soon the small talk ended, each of them going their separate ways. Arthur returned to his dull office, a sigh already leaving his form. In his soul sea, Regis let out another pitiful groan, annoyance and boredom killing the sentient weapon. And so the second week went by for Arthur, each day became more boring, each day Arthur's blood begged for action. Each day Regis howled in boredom in Arthur's mind. But alas, orders were orders, and so Arthur obeyed, at least for now.
(Arthur pov.)
I watched the same vision I had previously. Surrounded by destruction and Aether alike. Then I looked at my hands, and they were different. Not visually, but the feeling, the feeling of raw power, the bones sturdier, muscle denser, skin thicker. I imagined this is what it felt like to be Transcendent. Power beyond comprehension for the mundane. Power to fight against Titans. Power to destroy and be destroyed, yet remain standing. It was overwhelming. Then my hands disappeared, my vision fully covered by destruction.
And I realized what had happened. I let go of the constraints, the constraints that bound me, the constraints I put on myself, to protect, rather than destroy.
Then my eyes snapped open, hatred sense blooming in my mind, I acted. Instinctively, I dodged the blade, summoned an Aether blade, and stabbed the perpetrator, a small gasp leaving the attacker's mouth, before destruction blazed, the form of the man dissolving, then incinerated. Only the weak smell of burnt flesh remained, the only proof of the murder.
I let out a sigh. This wasn't the first time I was attacked in my sleep after all, the great clans had already sent assassins for me before, this was the third one. I let the first one live, only for the man to come back after a week, and so he died. Did I feel horrible? No. Was I sad for the loss of life? Not even a little bit. All I felt was pity, pity for the people who were forced to throw away their own lives for something "greater". Sighing once again, as Regis howled with laughter in my mind, I got up, my cloak appearing around my half-nude form. It was time to report another missing person and, of course, try to convince Saint Cor to allow me to go on missions.
[A/N: Well hello, ladies and gentlemen! First of all, I will say some things. Perhaps answer some of your questions.
1. Q: first person pov?
A: Yup, I actually got to write a little in it, and found myself way more able to imagine such things as fights scenes, so I thought "why not try it?" And so I did try it. Comment if you want more, maybe even switch to it, should I make a vote for it?
2. Q:Did I figure out where I want the story to go?
A: Nope!
3.Q: Will I be posting regularly now?
A:I actually don't know, I will be leaving the hiatus on the title judt incase, but I will try to work on the story more, even if I don't post it.
Ask questions! Suggest ideas! I do truly really apriacate your opinions, and even I'd they don't make it in, it might of given me an idea for something. So comment!
I would also like to deeply thank all the powerstone donators. It helped me see that people infact wanted more.
And so I will try to deliver! (Maybe review? That's like the biggest inspiration ever, better than PS for sure.)]
Thanks for reading and support!
Review and leave powerstones, it makes my work harder on the chapters!
