level 0Zero. Is that what I read that is in front of the shack in this shady grey? I also noticed that that ego guy and some other cat guy are here. I walk past them but one of them notices me. "Hey, you're that Tyler guy," the cat person said. The ego guy looked at me immediately. His eyes got wide. "Oh hey. You must know me!" "Yeah, we do. We—" The ego guy gave the cat guy a little kick.
"Oh, sorry. Also, my name is Dove, just in case you didn't know." I nod and look around; everything is black and white. "Hey, we should hang out here and stock up on food. And leave." The cat guy said. "I forgot to introduce myself also! My name is Kai." "So, um, do you know about this level? I just know it's black and white and there is some clock in that hut."
Kai smiled a bit wider. He was some humanoid with orange fur and black glasses. "Of course! The name is level 0Zero and in this level there is no danger in the mornings. You can find trees and grass and sometimes the trees glitch into each other. Also after 12 hours it goes to nighttime, which flips like a lightswitch and it'll be pitch black with no flashlight able to work except for the clock that'll be glowing and you'll die to hellhounds." I look at him, trying to think of what just happened.
We hang out by the waters drinking almond water and somehow water (they made a new machine using water, which I definitely didn't immediately steal and got to 16 million because of it!!!) After some time it went dark and they were not kidding; it did randomly get dark. I heard twisted howls and everyone was panicking through the sound, especially Kai; I could hear his breathing.
But then I heard a nudge on my hand and got dragged by my sleeves. It was a gentle drag and everybody is silent. But then something is lit. It was some lamp that was dark and had a white line. It was a hellhound standing up. It has some ripped-up cloak. It bows down and I also notice there are other hellhounds too, watching, standing up. I wonder if this is a sign of respect or just a death sentence.
Then it starts speaking. "Hello, dear humans. You have our greatest gratitude for coming here. You see, we bet on you so it'd be our deepest sorrow to kill you. There was some discourse because we bet on differen't people but we decided to accept everybody. It stood up and pointed at the lamp. "Also for things like this we'll explain everything and answer secrets. The Backrooms King really can pique our interest in this race."
"W-Wait, there's a Backrooms king?" I hear Kai's voice and realize he is right by me, standing upright. I didn't even notice that he was right by me; in fact, Dove is left by me too! He is looking down, sweating. I sigh, wondering what's going to happen.
