"Give me the chance to rid us of this rogue," Ash's words dripped with aggression. "I'll tear through his throat and let him bleed."
In response, I shook my head, my determination unwavering. "I must change to my human form now. My priority is safeguarding our children," I explained to him.
"But..." Ash began to protest, yet he quelled his objections, granting me control.
With a deep breath, I closed my eyes and shifted back to my human form. When I opened them again, Tristan was at my side, offering a pair of trousers salvaged from one of the dead guards.
