Chapter 2 - Inception

09-05-2025 11.49 a.m.

IN THE STONEMERE UNIVERSITY...

Sunlight, pale and stretched, filters through the gothic arches of Stonemere University. Ancient ivy clings to stone, a verdant shroud against weathered grey. The air hums with the distant murmur of student life.

INT. HISTORY LECTURE HALL - CONTINUOUS

? Kaelor! You are in my classroom!

Kaelor's head snaps up, a soft, involuntary sound escaping his lips.

Kaelor Hnm!?

Professor Edmund, If you wish to sleep, then get out to my class immediately!

[PROFESSOR EDMUND RAVENSCROFT (35), a man whose sharp features and intense gaze speak of relentless intellect, His eyes narrowing on Kaelor.]

Kaelor blinks, a blush creeping up his neck. He straightens, pulling his shoulders back, attempting to appear alert.

Kaelor, Ye… Yes, sir. No! Professor I mean, I did not sleep well last night.

[Kaelor Vyrn (18), a handsome young man with light blue hair that catches the occasional glint of light, sits slumped at a desk. His eyes, the same striking blue as his hair, are closed. A thin stream of drool glistens at the corner of his mouth]

Professor Edmund, Don't tell me you conducted your research whole night!

"Kaelor had the mind of a scholar, yet the discipline of one untouched by rules. While others buried themselves in textbooks, he pursued a singular obsession—he conducts on his own accord. And so, the class podium remained out of reach"

Kaelor, A little confused… what should to say? Aww! N… yeah. Teacher, I… I stayed up all night researching! Hehe!

"Professor Edmund Ravenscroft was more than a teacher—he was a guiding light. Always kind, always patient, he treated me with a warmth rare in scholars of his caliber. A master of his generation, he held multiple PhDs in Archaeology, History of Science and Technology, and Chronology, his mind a library of knowledge"

Professor Edmund, You are exceptionally dedicated to your research. Serious. Yet you ignore your daily life! If it's carrying on you will end up a wanderer, with nothing but regrets.

Kaelor's gaze drops to his desk, tracing the worn lines of the wood. A knot forms in his stomach.

Professor Edmund, Look at your great-grandfather—he was the founder of our university, the genius of all geniuses. I know you are brilliant too, but also focus on your study books and never forget to see the world around you, to understand what is truly happening beyond these walls.

Kaelor swallowed every word, choking on the bitter taste of his own embarrassment.

Kaelor, Yes, teacher. I remember your words. I will focus on my studies also.

A LOUD, PIERCING BELL RINGS, echoing through the hall, signaling the end of the lecture. Students rustle, gathering their belongings.

Professor Edmund, I guess time's up! We endorse our classes for the next day. Kaelor, meet me in office. See you all!

ALL STUDENTS—

Thank you, teacher!

After that with a rustle of books and footsteps, the students poured out of the classroom, their laughter and chatter spilling into the hallway like a lively stream escaping its banks.

? Hey Kaelor! Wait!

Kaelor turned at the sound of a voice calling his name.

"It was Aurelius Fenwick (18)—my closest friend since the very first day at university. Brilliant, admired, and effortlessly charming, Aurelius had earned the reputation of being the class topper and the very popular among the girls."

Aurelius, Kaelor, do you even realize how long I've been trying to wake you up? You were dozing away like the world had stopped spinning! The professor has summoned you to his office." His eyes darted toward the you, anxiety flickering across his usually composed face. "And from the look on his face… I'd say he's not just annoyed—he's furious. What are you going to do now?"

Kaelor scratched the back of his head, awkward, a crooked smile tugging at his lips.

Ahhh! Hehe… mnn, I don't know…

Before Aurelius could reply, a soft yet spirited voice chimed in from behind.

? Hey Guys! Kaelor! Aurelius! What are you doing?

"Isolde Marwen (18)—a beautiful, sharp-eyed young woman and the sole daughter of the influential Marwen family. A first class noble. And Aurelius girlfriend"

Aurelius said with a laugh, tossing a glance at Kaelor

Aurelius, We were just talking about what happened in Professor Edmund's lecture. He nearly got himself into trouble again!

"Eheheh…" Isolde covered her mouth with a teasing grin.

Kaelor" I , Isolde and Aurelius, we are underclassman, of The Parapsychology Department"

Kaelor frowned, cheeks warming.

Kealor, Why are you two always teasing me? Mmm!"

Isolde's smile softened, her eyes narrowing with intrigue.

Isolde's voice softened, though her eyes held a sharp glimmer.

Isolde

Kaelor, I know you're carrying your great-grandfather's will— the research he could never finish, the assumptions he could not even prove! The Time? But in chasing it so blindly… you've grown too careless.

Kaelor's expression grew distant. He thinking in self,

"My great-grandfather, yes. He was no ordinary man. Whatever path he chose—science, history, etc...—he always emerged victorious. He created inventions that pushed entire generations forward. Even The world remembers him as: 'The mind before whom even the prodigies seemed apprentices.'"

A strange silence followed his words, as if even the air hesitated. The name of his ancestor carried a shadow—one that whispered of secrets better left buried.

And yet, Kaelor knew… sooner or later, that shadow would return.

Kaelor smiled gently, pride glimmering in his eyes.

Kealor, Umn! But I followed my own will! My Dream—

He cuts himself off, pulling back from the precipice of revealing too much. He looks up, away from the two of them, toward the high, slate-grey sky, which seems to press down on the campus grounds. A faint, high-pitched hum, almost beyond human hearing, vibrates in the air around him.

KAELOR (CONT'D)

(With sudden, defiant grandeur)

"The Eternity"...
