Chapter 3 - The Forgotten Shadow

EXT. UNIVERSITY QUADRANGLE - DAY

They stiffens at the word, there fingers tightening around the strap of his satchel. For a heartbeat, the campus seems to fall silent, as though even the unseen hum has paused to listen. Australia and Isolde studies Kaelor's face—not with simple curiosity, but with a dawning unease, as though a shadow from some long-buried memory had just stirred.

Kaelor spun abruptly, striding into the opposite path, leaving silence trailing.

Australia and Isolde, Where are you going?

The words hung in the air, trembling between fear and disbelief.

Kaelor, I'm going to meet Professor Edmund. He requested my presence… did you forget?

Australia and Isolde, Alright then… see you!

Kaelor walked through the quiet corridor, his footsteps echoing softly, until he reached Professor Edmund's office door.

Kaelor paused before Professor Edmund's door, the polished wood gleaming faintly in the dim hallway light. His knuckles rapped once, deliberate, against the surface—an almost ceremonial tap that seemed to echo longer than it should.

Kaelor, Teacher! May I come in? You asked me to meet with you?

Professor Edmund, Yes... kaelor! Come in.

Kaelor stepped into Professor Edmund's office, the heavy wooden door closing behind him with a soft thud that echoed through the room. The faint scent of old parchment and ink hung in the air. Bookshelves loomed like silent sentinels, each spine a repository of forgotten knowledge.

Professor Edmund looked up from a stack of papers, his eyes sharp and assessing, as if measuring Kaelor not just by presence, but by the weight of the thoughts he carried.

Professor Edmund Ah… Kaelor! he murmured, his voice smooth but edged with something almost predatory. "I've been expecting you."

Professor Edmund, Indeed. I here to told you meet with me cause Im curastic to know, current status about your research?

Professor Edmund's eyes lingered on Kaelor, recalling their last conversation— about his research!

7.30 p.m.

On a delightful Evening , the Child of Restless Hope arrived at Professor Edmund's house, carrying with him a momentous question.

Kaelor leaned forward, his eyes intent.

Kaelor, Professor, I wish to know about the mysterious things written in our history book—the miraculous space, and the passage that binds with eachother in two different places?

Professor Edmund drew a deep breath, his brow furrowed, as confusion rippled through his thoughts.

Professor Edmund, exhaled slowly. Ah… the space hole!

Kaelor cut across the professor's words and said

Kaelor's voice trembled with urgency. Yes… is it possible that the space hole collapses into time itself, and that its exit lies in another timeline?

Professor Edmund's lips curved into a faint, praising smile. "Your assumptions are remarkable, Kaelor," he said, though a flicker of confusion lingered in his eyes as he searched for the right answer.

Professor Edmund, nodded slowly. ''Yes… there are theories about that. The greatest scientists of their eras spoke of such phenomena, and some even claimed to have found them—records of which still linger in old books.''

Kaelor, in a hurried breath, pressed forward, his words tumbling out in a hustle of eagerness.

Kaelor, leaned forward, eyes wide with urgency. ''Professor… the time loop in the hole—tell me about it. Is it possible? If someone enters, could they emerge in a different timeline?''

Professor Edmund, shook his head slightly, a thoughtful frown crossing his face. ''The truth is the worm… no one knows the details. It hasn't been proven. Perhaps it exists… or perhaps it doesn't. And if it does, there's every chance that variants could exist as well.''

Kaelor's brow furrowed, eyes widening. ''Variants?'' he echoed, confusion lacing his voice—''What do you mean, teacher?'' he had never heard the term before.

Professor Edmund's, gaze grew serious. ''There is a chance of multiple variants. As you suggested, the hole could collapse with time, or lead to some other place… or perhaps something we have yet to understand about parallel universes. And yes—there is even a chance you could end up in nothingness.''

Kaelor's Voice dropped to a whisper, uncertainty trembling in his words. ''Nothingness… what does that mean?''

Professor Edmund's Eyes darkened as he spoke. ''Maybe! It… consumes you. You end up nowhere—neither in any place nor any timeline. You simply… vanish.'' "
