Chapter 74 - [DEM] 74: White Dragon Emperor

Vali's father was casually killed by his grandfather after Vali's escape, and his mother, her memories erased, was abandoned in the human world.

This showed just how monstrous Rizevim truly was.

Morpheus hadn't expected that in this world, Vali would still be at his grandfather Rizevim's side.

This suggested the plot had shifted once again.

Perhaps after Rizevim was defeated by Lucifer, he recognized his own shortcomings and chose not to persecute Vali.

Instead, he sought to unite with Vali, hoping for his assistance.

Of course, this was merely Morpheus's speculation. Only their family would know the true details.

Besides Vali, there was another figure at Rizevim's side.

A stoic, gothic-clad girl in black.

No, not quite a girl.

More like a gothic loli.

Morpheus recognized her instantly—she was one of the two Dragon Gods from High School DxD.

Ophis, the Infinite Dragon God.

Speaking of Ophis, she was quite the unfortunate one.

In High School DxD, she was the Ouroboros, symbolizing infinite cycles, born in the void of the Dimensional Gap with limitless power.

As the Infinite Dragon God, she surpassed both gods and devils.

Yet, she was driven out of her home by another Dragon God, Great Red, the True Red Dragon God Emperor.

What could you say?

Great Red was utterly shameless.

But Morpheus recalled that in later chapters, Great Red was defeated in the Dimensional Gap by Regalezeva, an evil god from the E×E world invading Earth, and was beheaded.

In a way, it avenged Ophis.

Seeing this trio, Morpheus understood how Sirzechs and Serafall had been defeated.

The son of the Satan.

The strongest White Dragon Emperor in history.

And Ophis, the Infinite Dragon God.

Good grief, this group could take on the Satan Lucifer himself without breaking a sweat. If Sirzechs and Serafall had won, that would've been a miracle.

They never stood a chance.

At the same time, Morpheus's arrival drew the attention of everyone in the room.

Rizevim and Vali Lucifer both turned to look at Morpheus as he entered the church.

Even Ophis, the Infinite Dragon God, glanced at him.

She seemed surprised by Morpheus's power.

In her perception, his strength was extraordinary.

"Well, well, Silent Hill's quite lively today," Rizevim said, stroking his chin with a sly grin as he noticed the uninvited Morpheus.

He looked at Morpheus. "How should I address you?"

"Morpheus."

"Morpheus? Never heard of you," Rizevim remarked. As a devil among devils, renowned across the world with fearsome power, he knew every major player in the world.

But Morpheus? That name was completely unfamiliar.

This piqued his curiosity. What gave this man the confidence to stand before him?

As for Rias, Rizevim completely ignored her.

Just a little girl, insignificant compared to him.

"Hey, Morpheus, what brings you here? As you can see, we're a bit busy. If you've got no business, mind leaving us to it?" Rizevim asked.

Morpheus raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Oh? You're actually willing to let me walk away?"

Rizevim chuckled lightly. "Why, we've got no grudge. Why would I make things difficult for you?"

"Well, you're not half bad, then," Morpheus said with a sigh. "I appreciate you letting me off, but I'm not too fond of what you're doing, Rizevim."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You're the devil behind Umbrella, aren't you?" Morpheus's expression turned serious.

Rizevim froze for a moment.

Morpheus continued, "Care to explain why you're having Umbrella develop all those viruses targeting humans, Rizevim?"

Rizevim burst into laughter. "I see, I see! So you're one of Alaya's dog, huh? A Heroic Spirit, then?"

"But I've never heard of you among the Heroic Spirits who've achieved great deeds. Are you perhaps a Heroic Spirit from the future? That would explain why your name's unfamiliar."

"Though, you don't seem to have the aura of a Heroic Spirit. Care to enlighten me, Morpheus?"

Morpheus replied, "It's simple. I don't have a Heroic Spirit's aura because I'm not one."

"So I got it wrong?" Rizevim said, slightly surprised.

"Not entirely," Morpheus said. "I am with Alaya, but I wasn't sent by her. She invited me."

Rizevim's eyes lit up with understanding. "I see, that makes sense."

He looked at Morpheus with interest. "To be invited by Alaya, you must be quite something. Vali."

Vali, standing behind him, nodded. A pair of radiant wings sprouted from his back, and in an instant, he darted past Rizevim, charging at Morpheus.

At the same time, a voice echoed from the void.

"Divide."

This was the ability of the Divine Dividing: every ten seconds, it could halve the opponent's power.

Additionally, the Divine Dividing had a second ability—absorption.

It could take the halved power and add it to the user, though it couldn't restore stamina, only boost strength.

Combined, these abilities allowed Vali to halve his opponent's power every ten seconds and add that power to his own, though limited by his body's capacity to handle it.

Due to physical constraints, he couldn't absorb power indefinitely, or his body would collapse.

Excess power would be expelled through the Divine Dividing.

If he could absorb power limitlessly, Vali would've been invincible long ago.

Facing Vali's attack, Morpheus made no attempt to dodge, allowing Vali to absorb half his power.

But the sheer magnitude of Morpheus's power was something only he knew.

The moment Vali took in that power, he let out a scream. His body erupted in countless gashes, and he collapsed to the ground with a thud, unconscious.

The reason was simple—his body couldn't handle even half of Morpheus's power.

Forget half; he couldn't even withstand a tenth, or even a hundredth of it.

By recklessly absorbing it, Vali's body broke down instantly.

If Albion, the Heavenly Dragon within the Divine Dividing, hadn't intervened in time and stopped the absorption, Vali wouldn't just be unconscious.

He would've exploded.

Completely obliterated, leaving no trace.

Even the Divine Dividing would've shattered, reduced to a useless relic.
