"Her, right?"
I met her eyes.
"Always."
Then suddenly she smiled softly like she remembered something.
"Congratulations."
"For what?"
"You did it."
"The deal and expansion."
I exhaled slowly a small smile tugged at my lips.
"Yeah."
"Thank you, Celia."
She studied me for a moment then beamed up.
"Wait a minute...…. "
She rushed toward the kitchen and I frowned slightly. She came back with two glasses of red wine.
I lifted a brow.
"No....… I had a lot to drink earlier."
Not entirely true but I didn't want anything else.
"It's just wine."
She handed one toward me but I didn't take it.
"You refuse a drink from your old friend on a very important day like this?"
There was something in her tone between playful and wounded.
I looked at the clock on the wall.
9: 15pm
I shouldn't be here, but it's just wine and Celia.
I took the glass sitting lazily on the sofa beside me , the alcohol from earlier weighing down on me.
She lifted her own glass.
