Chapter 14 - Richelle Storme.

"Disposed," the young beast researcher answered coldly, Drew's constant distraction finally getting on his nerves.

Drew trembled at his words.

"No. No. No. No, you can't! His sister, she's really powerful!" He was almost screaming, begging the young man frantically.

A sudden chill descended upon the chamber from the man, making Drew's legs turn to jelly as he collapsed on his ass, the man's gaze on him, cold and flat.

"The next time you shout here again, you die." He said softly, yet Drew felt his life flash before his eyes with each syllable.

His body trembled, and he nodded, tears finally running down from his eyes.

'Why? Why is the world so cruel to me? Nothing... I have done nothing, yet I've never known good. Now... N... Now that I finally saw a chance...' he bit his lips as he lamented inwardly.

'I have to go... I have to get to the Black Bazar, so I can alert the government of my status!' He concluded, and he frantically rose to his feet.

"I am sorry" he bowed to the terrifying young man, his body still trembling from the close brush with death, from the man's tone.

"I'll be taking my leave" he said as he stood up, turning towards the door.

"Wait!" He heard, and his heart suddenly dropped.

Turning around, his tears were already running again, and his eyes were full of begging and plea.

"Why are you so worked up?" The man asked, "I know he has a powerful sister, but do you know your value now? With a good word, you can easily enter Elysium, someone from the inner sector would be unable to touch you." He said, like it was a matter of fact.

Drew clenched his fists at his side, knuckles turning white. "Because I made him register for the enhancement, and even this morning when he was half dead, and healing, I... I mentioned it to him, because I knew he'd not want to pass up on it, before his sister finds out what he wants to do."

He took a deep breath. "I was afraid of doing it alone, and I was jealous of him, so I wanted us to take the enhancement together..." He said gritting his teeth.

"Also... " His breathing seemed to be cutting short, as he prepared to say the last line, guilt flooding his veins.

"He's my friend... My only friend."

He felt a gut punch of disgust at those words. Was that how to treat friends? If he was truly a friend, would he have done the things he did, Sean even trusted him, no matter how slightly.

"Friend?" The man asked with a raised brow.

Drew's fists clenched further as he heard the questioning tone, his disgust growing even further, as he nodded.

'He must probably be disgusted by me now. Maybe he'll even kill me.' he thought.

'Sean... I'm sorry'

"I see..." The man muttered. "Well, I don't think there's anything more unique than you are that'll keep me here. Let's go. We'll retrieve his body. Hopefully he still has one"

"Eh?" Drew replied dazed. He feared that he had heard wrong. Did he just say...

"What? Didn't you want to find his corpse? Let's go." He repeated as he stood up, his body popping snaps, as his bones freed themselves from the exhausting position of sitting.

"I... Okay"

Suddenly, a noise erupted from outside the chamber, sounding like a heated argument between two parties, and catching their attention.

The young man groaned, cleaning his ears with a clearly displeased expression.

He strode towards the door and yanked it open, Drew following behind him.

The moment Drew took in the sight before him, he froze... Panic beginning to creep into his mind.

There she was, surrouded by Special Forces officers, on uniform. Her face was cold, almost raging, and her hair, white just like Sean's, was packed into a ponytail.

Sean's sister and Drew's nemesis... Richelle Storme!

----

"Sean?"

Sean's head snapped upwards as he heard his name, and a lady that confirmed all his deductions about the said guardian of the original Sean, immediately jumped into the pit of corpses, throwing away her lady like demeanor, and giving him a fierce hug.

Sean stiffened at the sudden embrace, his mind roaring between whether to push her away, or hug her back.

He was not a fan of being touched, especially so intimately, by people he was not familiar with. At the same time, pushing her away, would spell trouble for him.

In the end, he just kept his hand to himself, his face buried into her shoulder as she... Cried?

"Thank God. Thank God you're safe" she sobbed into his shoulder, her hands running through his tattered and messy white hair... Whatever color it was, now that it was mixed with blood, sweat, decay... And many more things he couldn't be bothered to keep records of.

The grimy sensation that followed, as her well kempt fingers ran through his hair, seemed to finally pull her out of it, as she finally withdrew from the embrace.

*Slap!*

A tight slap landed on his cheeks the next second, as she struggled to control her fury.

"You!... What were you thinking?! Have you suddenly gone mad?! You could have died Sean! Infact, they said you were dead. How on Earth are you even alive?!"

She fired questions after questions in rapid suggestions, her chest rising and falling after her outburst.

Sean bit his lips, after the shock that came with the slap, holding himself back from snapping her neck the next second.

But he understood that she was worried about him... No, about Sean, who unfortunately was dead, and who's body he now possessed and did not plan on giving up, not until he found a way back.

Since he was now Sean and had already resigned himself to the life of Sean, he should have seen this coming, and be ready to accept whatever trouble or blessing that may, or may not come, because of Sean Storme.

He took a deep breath and exhaled. Though he wasn't happy with this, he had to accept it. But he wasn't going to let it go... Not at all. If he did, then he wouldn't be Ellis Jonathan.

It wasn't Richelle who would pay though, but who ever was the bastard that had sent him here. If the person could do that, then he or she, was most definitely very... very powerful.

He just got another reason to grow stronger.

Looking up to meet Richelle's gaze, he replied solemnly. Both as Sean for worrying her, and as Ellis for taking what didn't belong to him.

"I'm sorry."
