I felt my fist clench at my side as I marched back toward the boys. I was about to show them who the king really is. I had been too lenient with Elias; he had broken virtually every one of my rules.
Elias stood up as soon as he saw me approaching. I was sure they could see my anger, but they had no clue how furious I truly was.
"Look, Abel, it was an accident. I didn't see her approaching," he said.
I paused to collect my thoughts, searching for the right words.
"Do you think you're the king of this streak, huh, Elias?" I asked.
He shook his head. "It was an accident with Annette."
I stepped closer to him, narrowing the space between us. "My orders were simple: she was off-limits to anyone in the streak."
I could see his face growing red, but I didn't care if it made him angry. My order was clear.
"Look, there was already enough fighting. It was my fault; I should have kept my smart-mouth remarks to myself," Finn said.
I didn't even glance at him. I was angrier at Elias for constantly disobeying my orders.
"You can't tell us who to date, Abel," Elias shot back.
"When it's within my streak, I can. If you don't like it, you can just leave."
"And what if I leave and take her with me?" he challenged, anger flashing in his eyes and a smirk on his face.
My gaze shifted to Annette, who was watching from the tent, my tent.
"Well, Elias, whose tent is she in?" I replied, my voice firm.
I knew how to provoke him. He exhaled deeply, and his face turned even redder than during previous altercations. This might be the maddest I had ever seen him. He raised his fist, and honestly, I wished he would hit me. That would throw the whole king thing out the window; I would gladly mop the floor with his face.
"Hit me. Do it," I dared him.
I noticed Finn grabbing Elias's other arm.
"Enough," Finn barked at him.
Then I heard shuffling feet and saw the Greenwood clan approaching. We couldn't be fighting in front of them.
"Elias, Finn, I want all these logs cleared out," I ordered, gesturing toward several large logs scattered around our campsite. I had intended to pick a weekend to do it, but this seemed like a perfect punishment.
"I have a show tonight," Finn protested.
"Welp, looks like you won't be making it," I replied.
I turned and focused my attention on the approaching clan.
