Chapter 9 - Page 8: Thank you... thank you for everything

I stood there staring at the girl who called out to me to not jump.

I've never been one to be interested in girls a lot.

Especially after what happened with Alex but...

She was the first ever to make me...

I don't know how to put it but she felt different.

Different from the people I'm used to.

I couldn't understand what I felt right now.

But before I knew it I subconsciously stepped back forgetting that I'm on the edge of a building.

Soon I felt like I was about to fall.

She ran towards me as I fell back.

The falling brought me back as I hurriedly grabbed onto the ledge.

The people underneath grew surprised in an almost synchronized gasp.

I climbed back as the girl also helped me.

After getting back up she asked me why I was doing this.

I looked at her for a bit before looking back down.

I heard a sigh come out of her mouth and immediately thought she was disappointed but instead.

"You don't have to tell me why. I'm sure you had a reason for this."

After she spoke her words I slowly looked up at her.

I didn't expect her to understand what I was doing.

I thought she was-

"Oh I'm Abigail by the way. You can also call me Abby for short."

She stood up and smiled brightly.

Her smile made me forget about everything about my past.

I also stood up slightly, shaking from the cold since I had no coat.

"It's... Caiden."

she had noticed my shaking and gave me hers which is a bit small but... it somehow felt comfortable.

Looking at her I realized that she was the only one after my grandparents to save me in time where I had nothing.

And I wished it stayed that way.
