[Infinite.]
----
A small system window hung mid-air right in front of his eyes.
"Hey now, how did I not notice this earlier?" A silent grin slithered onto Lucian's lips.
Phasing through countless system screens, he walked towards a small system screen, emanating a bright, instantly noticeable dark glow.
At first, blinded by the spectrum of system lights, his eyes subconsciously ignored the most obvious thing.
"Infinity, huh?" He muttered to himself in a low, almost inaudible voice, "Didn't expect to see it here.."
Arriving before the small black colored screen, he noticed some strange dark particles floating around its surface. Though, he paid no mind to such.
After all, his eyes were stuck on his choice — the greatest creation of his life.
"If 'The Apocalypse Cultivator' was the world's most favourite novel, then 'this'," his eyes sparkled with a strange excitement as his hand reached for the screen.
"It was the very soul that gave life to that story."
It was just as Lucian had said.
Infinity. It was undoubtedly the best creation of Lucian — something that he truly called his own.
Something that not only gave a new meaning to the concept of infinity, but also opened a completely new world to the people.
His right hand reached the screen and softly touched the surface. Unlike before, when his body phased through countless screens, he could really touch the translucent screen as if it existed in reality. Not as a hologram or hallucination, but something real.
Sensing his touch, a bright light pulsed through the screen like a wave. From the corners, the light leaked and shone across the entire world.
In an instant, all the other system windows began to crumble away, glistening in a hint of golden hue.
At the same time, a new system window formed in front of his eyes, overlapping the black one.
This one was cerulean, like the one he had seen at first.

Reading through the notification, Lucian squinted his eyes for a second.
"Well, that was quick." He said, letting out a quick sigh.
Just then, the same bright light glimmered from the system screen and blinded his eyes. He shut his eyes completely and, in an instant, felt something soft pushing against his back.
Though, still affected by the blindness, he softly rubbed his eyes and blinked several times. Up front, he saw the same old damaged ceiling.
He was back but his thoughts still lingered in the previous world.
'What was it?'
'Was it real?'
'If so, did I really get myself the most powerful element of creation?'
Many questions popped into his mind, still finding it all hard to believe. But he did not bother to think longer about them. After all, if it were really true, then the world was bound to change.
And if not, he can simply pretend that everything he had just witnessed was, but a lie.
Lying over the same couch, his body grew heavy with exhaustion. His eyes began to struggle to remain open.
Letting out a deep, sounding yawn, his eyelids closed and his mind relaxed. For some reason, even though he hadn't done anything fruitful, his muscles ached like he had been labouring for over a millennium.
"Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaak!"
A loud, guttural screech reverberated in his ears and jolted him awake. It was high-pitched, like that of a girl's.
He snapped open his eyes and sharply looked towards his window.
"It's still red, damn it!" He shouted as he jumped off the couch and quickly ran towards the gate of his room.
Lucian grabbed his hoodie from the wedged hooks over the door. He tied the arm sleeves around his neck and, without wasting any time, pulled the door open.
*Swoosh!*
A sudden whirl of wind slammed against his body, rendering him stunned for a second.
His eyes widened, as he felt a sharp frost pierce through his spine. Unconsciously, his body began to retreat, and his feet stumbled against themselves.
'Th-This Stench...'
Lucian pinched his nose tightly shut; his pupils trembled.
It was the same stench that he had experienced through his window, as the tangy metallic taste still lingered in his mouth.
Even so, he could tell one thing really clearly, "Th-this... It's incomparable to before..."
Unlike before, when he could still breathe just fine, the air now seemed to be filled with vapours of humid blood.
It was too dense, and awful for one to breathe in such conditions. But Lucian had no choice.
"If things have become this bad in that short amount of time, it's safer for me to assume that whatever is causing all this is within the building." He muttered softly, his voice — as low as it could be.
"More or less, it's not safe for me to stay here for long. I'll have to get used to this smell too."
He removed his hand and took in a deep breath. In an instant, his facial expressions worsened. He frowned, and tightly shut his lips, trying to keep his guts within.
Despite going through a small trial of his own, Lucian stepped forward. After writing hundreds of times about the apocalypse, he knew that the most important thing at the moment wasn't his survival alone — But the time.
The more time he wasted at a spot, the more he'd be in danger. Especially so at a time when neither does he possess any powers nor does he own any information about the enemies. It was a peculiar situation, even for him.
*Huff...*
Breathing through the same air a couple of times, Lucian got accustomed to its smell.
He left the door unlocked and simply walked towards the darkened hallway.
