Isaac's phone vibrates on the table, a soft buzz, but enough to cut through the air between them. He glances down, his expression tightening only for a second before smoothing into something neutral. Work call. The unavoidable kind. Emily steps forward from where she was waiting near the door, holding out a folder. "Sir, they're waiting for your approval."
Isaac exhales through his nose, quiet but resigned.
He rises from the sofa, one hand lightly brushing the fabric as he steadies himself. Mina instinctively shifts back, giving him space, or maybe needing it more than she realizes.
Before he turns, his gaze drops to her for a moment.
Not teasing. Not playful. Just observant. Like he saw more than she meant to show.
He gives her a small nod, polite, composed. "Excuse me for a moment," he says, voice smooth but clipped back into CEO mode. Emily follows him out, already listing brief updates in a low voice as they disappear down the corridor. The door closes.
