Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 You should be glad that I didn't ruin your career

Sixteen years ago, the spaceship carrying Supermancrashed in Smallville.

Along with it, Kryptonite, also known as "Kryptonite," from Superman's home planet of Krypton, also fell to Earth.

It can make Superman lose his superpowers and become weak, and in severe cases, lead to unconsciousness or even death.

The cunning and sinister Eric certainly wouldn't miss this opportunity.

From the moment he gained agency, he began collecting the "Kryptonite" that had fallen in the town.

To prevent Clark from discovering it, he even specially used lead packaging to seal it.

The metal "lead" can restrain Superman, blocking his vision and senses.

The Kryptonite fragments packaged in the lead box were collected by Eric in the town over the past month, and he had originally planned to take them home today, but they were stolen!

Although the quantity was not large, it still raised suspicions in his usually cautious mind.

Were those dark forces lurking in the shadows stirring?

Or had certain forces that had already become aware of Superman's power begun to lay out their plans in advance?

No!

Right now, Clark is just a high school student, and no one realizes what kind of changes he will bring to this world in the future.

So who could it be?

Closing the locker door, Eric's mind was filled with doubts.

Bang!

A violent thudding sound came from an office at the other end of the corridor.

Following that was a roar that could be heard throughout the entire corridor.

"I'll tell you I AM the authority! I've worked here for twenty-five years, bringing countless honors to the school, and you, my students, for the sake of covering up your despicable crimes, have come out to attack me! Shameless! Despicable! Betrayal!"

The roar was accompanied by the sound of a table being struck, indicating the anger of the person roaring.

Is that Coach Watt from the football team?!

Listening to the roar echoing in the corridor, Eric's brow furrowed.

He had met Coach Watt a few times.

Because the other party had always wanted to recruit him to join the football team, they had interacted several times.

However, due to Jonathan's opposition, he ultimately did not join the team.

Eric's gaze pierced through the wall, dimly seeing the team members being reprimanded inside.

He didn't know why the coach, who had always been beloved by his team, would be so angry with them.

Perhaps Coach Watt has been particularly hot-tempered lately.

Shaking his head, Eric prepared to turn and leave.

Creak!

The coach's office door opened, and dejected team members filed out.

"Hey! Looks like Coach Watt is in some trouble, otherwise he wouldn't be so out of control."

Chloe stood in the corridor, ready for class, and happened to see this scene, excitedly telling Pete.

"Hold this for me, I'm going to take a picture."

Handing her book to the short, dark-skinned boy next to her, Chloe's journalistic urge kicked in, and she prepared to take out her camera to snap a photo.

But Chloe's photography was immediately noticed by the strong football player.

The player, annoyed by Chloe's nosiness, casually threw the football in his hand at her.

Chloe, who was in the process of raising her camera, didn't notice and was hit directly on the shoulder.

"Ugh."

Chloe let out a pained groan and immediately stumbled backward uncontrollably.

Because she wanted to protect the camera in her hand, she barely managed to stay upright, staggering back a few steps until her back hit Eric's locker.

Clang!

Her body collided with the locker, making a crisp sound.

"Hey! Guys, don't resort to violence!"

Seeing Chloe injured, Pete immediately stood in front of her to dissuade the football team members.

The tall, strong member who threw the football, with an indifferent expression, ignored Pete and walked near Chloe.

He glanced disdainfully at Chloe, then bent down to pick up the football on the ground.

"What are you doing? Openly attempting to assassinate a classmate?"

Clutching her faintly aching shoulder, Chloe glared at him and asked.

"Just a warning, don't keep bothering the football team."

The strong member threatened her in a low voice.

"Oh, did I hit a nerve? Now I know who wrote me that threatening letter last time, full of grammatical errors and crude words, I thought it was written by some uneducated hobo."

Chloe retorted, not mincing her words.

The strong man ignored her and prepared to turn and leave.

The moment he turned, he saw Eric standing silently by the locker.

Then he caught sight of the words "Eric Kent" on the locker.

"You're Eric Kent? Coach Watt is always talking about you, even though you didn't join, but on the football team, you're quite famous."

A sarcastic smile appeared at the corner of the strong man's mouth as he extended his hand towards Eric.

"Dan, Dan Brown!"

Seeing the mischievous smile on his lips, Chloe knew he was definitely going to play a trick during the handshake.

Looking at the idiot shouting in front of him, Ericmerely gave him a cold glance, then turned and left.

Dan Brown's hand hung in mid-air, and an awkward expression appeared on his face.

Then the awkward expression turned to annoyance, and he gripped the football in his hand, throwing it violently at Eric.

The football, launched with immense force, instantly shot towards the back of Eric's head.

Lana, who had just entered the teaching building, was chatting and laughing with her boyfriend when she happened to see the football heading for the back of Eric's head, and she couldn't help but cover her mouth.

Contrary to what was expected, Eric was not knocked down.

The moment the football approached his body, he caught it steadily with one hand.

It was as if he had caught only a trivial, light object.

He didn't even waver a bit.

Eric, who had caught the football, casually threw it forward, and the football shot like an arrow from a bow towards the astonished Dan Brown.

With a thud, the football hit him in the stomach!

Dan Brown instantly felt a sharp pain in his stomach, as if he had been struck by a hammer.

He involuntarily bent over, and his back slammed against the metal locker with a thunderous "bang."

"Ugh! Ugh!"

Dan Brown, groaning and clutching his stomach, was so much in pain that tears were about to well up in his eyes.

Not only did his stomach hurt, but his tailbone hitting the locker was also excruciating.

Eric, having delivered his "sweetheart strike," glanced at Dan Brown, who was squatting on the ground, shook his head, and turned to leave.

If it weren't for the crowd at school, an idiot who dared to provoke him like this would at least be in the hospital for half a year, completely ending his career.

Chloe, standing next to Dan Brown, was completely stunned.

She hadn't expected Clark's brother to be so "abnormal" too!

He easily caught the football, and with a casual flick, he could inflict a "critical hit" on that jerk, Dan Brown.

Are all the Kents this "abnormal"?!

While feeling a sense of satisfaction, Chloe also developed a strong interest in Eric.

Pete, standing nearby, saw Chloe's eyes light up and knew that Miss Reporter's "quirk radar" had activated again.

If he wasn't mistaken, Eric would definitely be severely "harassed" by her in the name of journalism.

"Stop!"

A sudden voice called out, stopping Eric who was about to leave.
