Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 The First Unbearable Pain in Life

When Chloe and Pete walked into the ballroom, the first feeling they had was one of charm.

The girls wore various exquisite lace, chiffon, or silk dresses, rustling as they moved.

Long dresses, high heels, dazzling white evening gowns, decorative sashes, and shiny black leather shoes formed the beautiful scenery of the homecoming dance.

"Ahem, Chloe, I only know how to dance the Jitterbug. Do you think people will boo me?"

Pete, dressed in formal wear, asked his dance partner Chloe with some concern.

"What Jitterbug?"

"My grandfather taught me. It's the kind of dance where you cross your arms and do classic Cossack moves, and it's so wild you can easily fall."

Pete casually explained to Chloe while looking at the dance floor.

"Whatever, I think your silly dance will be as much a topic of ridicule for those guys as the exposed bra straps and pimples on the girls."

Chloe, distracted, retorted with a venomous tongue.

"Clark and Eric didn't come to the dance?"

After searching the ballroom, Chloe asked Pete with a slight frown.

"Maybe he's waiting for Eric outside. After all, he's always been worried about Eric's malicious intentions."

"Then let's go outside and find them."

Chloe immediately pulled Pete out.

"Alright, but my dance might be ruined. You need to think about how you're going to compensate me."

Pete grumbled, picking up the party favor prepared on the ballroom round table—Gardener's Mixed Nuts.

In the gymnasium not far from the school ballroom, Eric stood in the middle of the basketball court.

The moonlight from outside the window shone in, forming a boundary line of light and shadow on the ground.

"Clark, come out. You've been following me all along, trying to stop me from going to the dance, haven't you?!"

As soon as Eric finished speaking, a gust of wind suddenly blew through the gymnasium.

Clark appeared behind Eric!

Clark, with an unusually serious expression, was ready to use force to stop him.

"Eric, I won't let you hurt anyone again!"

Clark's fists were tightly clenched. "You need help."

Eric turned around, facing Clark, with a faint smile on his lips. "Alright, Clark, how are you going to help me?"

"Come home, and then confess everything to me. Mom and Dad and I can all help you."

Although Clark believed Dan Brown's death was related to Eric, he had no intention of sending his brother to prison.

He felt that between his brother and Dan Brown, there might be hidden reasons he didn't know about.

"You know, Clark, since we were little, you generally haven't been the one who could persuade me."

Sighing, Eric feigned helplessness.

Reporter Chloe's previous assessment of him—"luring Clark step by step into conflict with him"—was not entirely without reason.

Eric's Homelander Template had been unsealed by 70%, and the reason it couldn't continue to unlock was because it couldn't break through its shackles.

No matter how much he trained, pushed his body to its limits with crazy training, or honed himself in actual combat, the template's unlock progress wouldn't budge.

The reason for this was the lack of facing powerful enemies or insurmountable dangers to unleash his body's greatest potential.

Although Clark, as a Kryptonian, had greater potential than him, most of his abilities were currently undeveloped. If they fought normally, he would definitely not be his opponent.

Clark, who believed him to be the murderer, would certainly go all out, and his potential outburst might cause him enough trouble.

Furthermore,

When a "god among men" filled with prejudice and anger causes an irreversible outcome due to his own mistakes, can he still be called a "god"?

Eric, in a moment of twisted humor, wanted to see how his "cheap older brother" would face the first "unbearable pain" in his life.

As for the lives of those scumbags on the football team, he didn't care at all.

"Clark, you think I'm the murderer because your heart is full of prejudice."

Eric raised his voice, speaking with intonation: "Because my body gives you a bad feeling, because I'm the one who seems to disregard other people's lives, because I have conflicts with the football team, so I'm the murderer!"

"Your anger and prejudice make you overlook more, many more fatal problems."

"If you want to be the one who protects and shows compassion, then you must learn to become smarter!"

Bang!

The hurricane caused by the fist tore through the air, producing a violent popping sound.

The surrounding air was instantly ripped apart!

Clark didn't expect Eric to suddenly attack him. He couldn't react in time and was hit in the chest.

"Ugh..."

Clark let out a painful groan and was sent flying backward.

Like a direct baseball, he slammed heavily into the wall. The hard wall instantly developed countless cracks, extending outwards like a spiderweb.

Dust and wall debris fell rustling.

"Cough..."

His chest hurt so much he could barely breathe, and his eyes were being assaulted by waves of faint black consciousness.

Clark, clutching his chest, slowly slid down the wall.

The next second, Eric's super speed activated, and he threw another punch towards Clark's chin.

The fast and heavy punch turned into a literal lightning bolt.

Clark, having reacted, blocked with his arm and used the recoil to move backward, escaping the attack range at a speed no less than Eric's.

Eric's attacks continued like a torrential downpour, closing in, then a backhand high kick sweep!

The target was Clark's abdomen.

Eric, who constantly honed his physical fitness and studied various combat techniques, even if his speed and strength were pulled to the same level as Clark, the latter would not be his opponent.

What's more, Clark had just awakened, and his speed and strength were far inferior to his.

Bang!

This time, Clark didn't choose to dodge. Facing Eric's close-quarters grappling, he chose to meet force with force.

Gritting his teeth, he extended his arm. As soon as it made contact, he felt a powerful surge of force rushing towards him.

A ferocious force, like hundreds of meters of ocean waves rising in an instant, assaulted Clark's body.

Fists collided with fists, and the surrounding air let out a painful "groan" from the shock. Clark was sent flying.

With a loud "clang," his body slammed heavily into the basketball hoop.

The metal basketball hoop, possessing super hard durability, was deformed by Clark's impact, and the metal bar was bent at a ninety-degree angle.

Clark fell from the basketball hoop and crashed to the ground with a loud thud.

"Ugh!"

Clark, lying on his back on the ground, let out a painful groan.

His consciousness was blurring in waves, and every muscle in his body felt pain.

Meanwhile, in an unnoticed corner.

Chloe and Pete, hiding outside the gymnasium window, were completely stunned!

What was this?

These attacks, which the naked eye couldn't even catch, each caused the air to tremble, the roar of flesh colliding with metal...

It had completely surpassed the realm of humans!

Are all the Kent family members this abnormal?!

Especially Eric, who clearly didn't look as strong as his brother, yet he could suppress Clark completely, preventing any counterattack!

Witnessing such an attack method that defied human common sense for the first time, the duo had fallen into immense panic.
