Chapter 112 - Chapter 112 I am not a person, I am dynamite

"That's enough, Green Lantern."

Wonder Woman called out to the Green Lantern, who was preparing for battle.

After the fuming Green Lantern stopped his actions, Wonder Woman said to Batman, "I am Wonder Woman, and it's good to see you again, Batman!"

Batman had no intention of shaking hands with her. He stared at Wonder Woman, who was completely cloaked in a black robe. "I don't think we've met before."

He turned to leave, saying, "I don't know who you are, but Gotham is not a place you should be."

"Even if it's about the Court of Owls?"

Wonder Woman's voice came, and Batman immediately stopped.

"What?"

"I heard you're currently in trouble with the Court of Owls and the League of Assassins. I know about the Court of Owls and the League of Assassins. I can provide you with what you want. The premise is that you believe we are not your enemies."

Batman was silent for a moment, then turned around. "That depends on you, not me."

"Of course."

Wonder Woman took a step closer to Batman. "At least we now have a basis for trust."

She then looked at the somewhat bewildered Green Lantern and said, "That is—we both have someone we want to beat up right now."

Green Lantern: "?!"

Kent Farm, late at night.

Eric was about to lie down and rest when he suddenly noticed Clark sleepwalking again.

And the place he was sleepwalking to was the cave he had buried earlier.

Frowning, Eric got out of bed, activated his super speed, and instantly left the farm.

Whoosh!

A gust of wind blew through the curtains, and Eric's figure disappeared from the room.

He moved to the entrance of the cave, which held the secrets of Krypton, and walked inside.

A few scattered faint lights illuminated the dark cave, making it dimly lit.

Eric stepped on the slightly loose ground, guided by the faint ground light, and walked deeper into the cave.

He found Clark standing in front of a stone wall covered with Kryptonian script, looking up at the words and patterns.

The wall emitted a white light, illuminating Clark, who was enveloped in a silvery-white glow.

"Clark?"

Eric tried calling out to him.

Hearing Eric's voice, Clark turned around, his eyes filled with white light, and stared at him expressionlessly.

"Can you hear me?"

Eric frowned and reconfirmed with him.

But Clark, whose eyes emitted white light, did not respond to Eric.

The next second, a burst of energy suddenly shot from his hand towards Eric.

Facing the sudden attack, Eric immediately dodged backward.

With a bang, the white energy beam struck the wall, creating an explosion.

After dodging the energy beam, Eric instantly moved to Clark's side and slapped him.

Clark didn't have time to react, and his face was severely slapped by Eric.

The light in Clark's eyes quickly dissipated after being slapped.

At the same time, the energy light covering the wall also disappeared instantly.

Clark awoke from his dazed state, looking at Eric with hazy eyes.

"E-Eric?"

Feeling a bit of pain in his face, he covered his left cheek and looked at Eric, whose expression wasn't very good, then glanced at the constantly collapsing rubble from the ceiling of the cave.

"What… what did I do?"

"You were sleepwalking, and your mental state was a bit abnormal. You attacked me, but luckily, your aim was a bit off, and I dodged it."

Eric ignored Clark and walked directly to the rock wall to examine the Kryptonian script and patterns on it.

"I attacked you?"

Clark pressed his forehead to clear his mind a bit.

After taking a deep breath, he asked Eric, "Are you hurt, Eric?"

His tone was full of fear and concern.

"Not yet."

Eric turned around and said, "If you want to apologize to me for what just happened, there's no need. You can't expect a sleepwalking person to be responsible for their actions."

He then turned and walked out of the cave entrance.

"Let's go back. If Mom and Dad find out, you'll have to spend time explaining your strange sleepwalking."

His voice came from outside, accompanied by his footsteps.

Clark watched Eric's back disappear into the depths of the cave, clenched his fists tightly, and turned to face the rock wall.

His eyes seemed to spit fire as he roared at the rock wall in front of him, "I don't know what you want to do, but you will never be able to control me! If you try to control and harm my brother, then even if I destroy myself, I will take you down with me!"

After saying his harsh words to the rock wall, or rather, to Jor-El, he turned and left.

His clenched fists relaxed, and Clark instantly made a decision in his heart.

If you try to take away the person closest to me, then there will be no possibility of coexistence or reconciliation between us!

The next day, early morning.

Clark found Pete.

With a serious expression, he said to him, "Pete, I need your help."

"What kind of help?"

Pete put his football jersey into the locker and asked Clark in a good mood.

He had recently joined the football team, and although he mostly sat on the bench waving a towel as a perennial water boy, being part of the football team still made him very happy.

At least when going out with girls, saying he was on the school football team was very impressive.

"The chlorine gas, hydrogen gas, and magnesium strips from the chemistry lab! I need to get them out!"

"You… you sure?"

Pete was startled to hear Clark say he wanted to steal these flammable and explosive chemicals stored in the lab.

He had thought Clark's earlier "explosion plan" was a joke.

Seeing Clark's emotions filled with impatience and anger, he felt his best friend's emotional state might be a bit abnormal.

"Hey, listen, Clark, you need to calm down. This is no small matter."

Pete glanced left and right, then lowered his voice and said, "Leaving aside the consequences, what we're doing is against school rules."

"I don't have time. I'm afraid I'll lose more and more control over myself. Just yesterday, I attacked Eric. I don't know who else I'll hurt, but if everyone I cherish gets hurt, then I have no choice, Pete."

Clark explained to him in a slightly anxious tone.

"Alright, maybe you have your reasons, but I still hope you think about it more."

Pete locked his locker and shrugged.

"I'm sure, Pete. Ten o'clock tonight, meet here."

After confirming the meeting time with Pete for the evening, Clark turned and left.

Pete, however, watched his retreating figure with some unease.

In his anxious state, ten o'clock finally arrived.

Dark clouds covered the entire sky, and the entire campus fell silent.

Clark and Pete arrived at the chemistry lab building. Standing in front of the door to the room storing experimental reagents, Pete nervously glanced left and right, then looked at Clark.

"The door is locked. How do we get in?"

Clark didn't answer. He reached out, gripped the doorknob, and twisted it slightly.

With a "click," the lock was easily twisted open by him.

"Oh, right, I forgot you're a strongman with immense strength."

Pete grumbled to Clark, then followed him into the room.

They moved out the steel cylinders containing liquid chlorine gas and the large storage containers holding liquid hydrogen gas.

"So, what do we do next?"

"Just leave," Clark replied.

Watching Clark effortlessly carry the two boxes of dangerous chemicals on his shoulders, Pete swallowed, and asked nervously, "Are you sure it's okay, Clark? I think you'd better be gentle. If we're not careful, we might get blown up immediately."

"OK, I'll be careful, but now let's get out of here first."

Clark nodded to Pete, closed the lab door, and prepared to leave.

"Can I ask something, Clark?"

Pete thought for a moment and asked Clark, "What do you mean by 'harm'?"

Clark put down the steel cylinders, storage containers, and magnesium strips he was carrying on his shoulders, unbuttoned his shirt, and showed Pete the burned mark on his chest.

"Oh my god!"

Pete was shocked to see the somewhat gruesome mark on Clark's chest.

"Do you know what this means, Clark?"

"This is my birth father, telling me to do what he says. That spaceship has been hidden by Eric, but there's a cave by Hatchet Creek with Kryptonian writing and ruins inside. He can still control me."

Pete shook his head helplessly. "Your parents must be worried sick, and Eric too."

"They don't know yet."

Clark solemnly buttoned up his shirt. "I haven't told my parents."

"Why not tell them?"

"Because I know what to do, Pete. Even in a million years, they wouldn't agree to me doing this. I'm going to destroy him!"

Clark's eyes were filled with anxiety and seriousness, no longer the calm and smiling expression from before. "I have no choice!"

"This is insane!"

Pete shook his head, feeling he had been too hasty in agreeing to it.

"Maybe… maybe your Kryptonian birth father is trying to tell you something, maybe he's protecting you!"

Clark said expressionlessly, "He's just trying to protect himself, and then harm my family."

"You've never done anything like this before. You don't know what will happen, Clark. This could even kill you. You could die!"

Pete continued to persuade him.

Clark's eyebrows twitched when he heard the word "die," but he quickly hid his emotional fluctuation.

"I am not a man."

A somewhat gloomy Clark looked at the mark on his chest. "Pete, I am dynamite."

He suddenly remembered the quote from Nietzsche that Chloe had recommended to him—"I am not a man, I am dynamite."
