The birds chirping at the window woke me up as I slowly opened my eyes, basking in the warmth of the sun. The dizziness receded slowly, replaced by a fresh, calming resolution of the wooden walls and floor. And as my vision adjusted to the intensity of light, I once again saw the same serene forest scenery, putting a calm smile on my face.
The difference between my room and this is really enchanting. With slight amazement, I soon focused on the empty air in front of me and checked the [Leaderboards]. And surprisingly or unsurprisingly, there still wasn't a single person other than me who made it there.
The nights must have been harsh on the players. I chuckled as I thought of the possible scenarios before focusing on my own status.
"Status."

[Time-Seer] class focuses on Intelligence mostly, but if I am to face the Witch, I would surely need more attack and endurance. Plus there is the Guardian of Time in the Chronos Temple, too. I pondered as I got off the bed before slowly walking outside the room. And by the time I reached the reception hall, I decided to leave the attributes as it is.
I will allocate them based on the situation. I gave a self-affirmation before looking at Tiera sitting behind the reception counter as usual, reading a blue coloured book named 'Dungeons and Dragons.'
Since it's 10 AM now, most of the villagers should be awake. Hopefully, I can get to level 10 today and proceed with the next part of the quest.
These were the main targets of today, in fact, I must finish them by today since staying awake for more than 2 in-game days would be the max I can handle right now. It was sad but by the end of today's session, my brain would most likely be super tired and I might end up sleeping the entire night outside the world.
Hopefully, the next few updates will include the feature of allowing players to play even in their sleep. Though on that note, I wonder if any of the players appeared in the Inara settlement? I kept pondering as I reached the counter where Tierra was reading the book.
"Good Morning," I greeted her with a polite smile.
Lowering the book a few centimetres, she gazed at me for a few seconds before answering my words with a slight nod. Her eyes then darted back into the book which she was intently reading.
"Quick question. Saw any new adventurers in the settlement?" I asked hoping to get an answer. Even if I didn't it wasn't a big deal.
Tierra kept reading the book for a few more seconds, and then, without lowering the book she answered,
"There were 3 of them. A female who appeared late at night after you went to sleep, though because everyone in the settlement was sleeping, she went back to sleep an hour later. Later this dawn, two boys appeared whom I guided to the elder. Also, the female returned 2 hours after dawn and went outside on her own without asking for anything."
Speaking of which, she turned silent again and politely bowing to her, I thanked her once more and went outside the inn.
So there are three players, huh? I wonder what classes they chose. I anticipated a bit hoping there to be at least a [Healer] among them, or a [Priest] even better. That would make my work lighter given the nature of the upcoming quests regarding the settlement.
But that was something I would calculate after I met with them. For now, my target was the guy who gave me the ring quest.
[Find the Lost ring(Uncommon)!]
[Description: Lloyd the Merchant has lost his silver ring on his venture into the deep forest. Find his ring back and he will give you an equally important item in return.
Task: Look for objects on the path to the north
Rewards: Silver Ring of the Living(Ring)]
Since I already had the ring in my pocket from my last night's venture, I moved to Lloyd's house, the second last house in the settlement.
Just like last time, he was checking the goods that he was going to sell in the nearby town, and finding me at his doorstep, he turned towards me, dusted his dirty hands and moved closer.
A smile blossomed on his tired expression as I presented him with the ring, making him ecstatic as he thanked me a few times. And then with a slight recall, he spoke out 'Oh! Your reward!' Before he went back to where his goods were and took out the [Silver Ring of the Living] and presented it to me.
[Quest: Find the Lost Ring(Complete)]
[+Silver Ring of the Living(Uncommon)]
[Silver Ring of the Living(Ring)
Grade: Uncommon
Effects: The defence and attack power of all the non-living creatures around the user will be reduced by 10%]
"Right now, I am busy. But please visit me this evening, there is something that I need to talk to you about," he spoke before moving back to his work.
Another quest? I was surprised as I waited for a quest window to pop up, but for one reason or another, it did not. It made me wonder if I heard it wrong.
I guess I can check it out later in the evening to confirm it. I decided before equipping the ring and moving out of the house, aiming to finish the last pending side quest that I had for now.
[Fend of the Wolves(Basic)!]
[Description: Old man Han is having some difficulties managing his farm. The wolves seem to be getting more numerous each time they attack his sheep.
Task: Kill 8 Wolves
Reward: +10 Wheat Grains; +10 Sheep Wool; +50 Exp: +2 Favorability to Inara Village]
Moving to the farm on the far west of the settlement, I found the wolves pretty quickly. Numbering 5, their average level was 4, so in a few moments, all of them became free experience points for me.
[Quest: Fend the Wolves(Complete)]
[+10 Wheat Grains]
[+10 Sheep Wool]
[+50 Exp]
[+2 Favorability to Inara Village]
And with that done, I was finally free from the side quests and could focus on the Main Quest without leaving anything untouched. Though that was probably wishful thinking too…
Sigh.
Since the last information gathering, I suppose there will be more side quests. Especially since the requirements were 20 Favourability and Level 5, the quests should also be of equal difficulty. I made a quick calculation before beginning to solve more of the mystery of this small settlement.
Last time, I basically rushed it all, so this time hopefully, I will figure out more about it and probably gain more rewards than last time.
