Just as Fíliya was about to reach out and touch the part of the golem that resembled an eye, the "eyes" of the several golems suddenly glowed brightly with red light, while the four pairs of legs on their chests abruptly extended by several inches.
This was a clear sign of hostility, and the target of this hostility...
Fíliya subconsciously glanced at the three members of the Demon Race behind her.
Just as I thought.
"Alert level rising. Entering Level Two readiness mode... Commencing analysis... Three members of the Demon Race. Win probability... is... 87%, 0.03%..."
The light from the golem's eyes grew even more piercing. It scanned Solitär for a good while before continuing.
"No possibility of victory. Changing strategy... Prioritizing the human's escape."
After saying this, the golem's four legs changed again. The tips of its legs, which had been spike-shaped, suddenly split into what looked like fingers, and it was about to grab Fíliya.
"Alright, it seems I need to calm these things down first."
Fíliya said, snapping her fingers.
Several threads of mana, ethereal blue like fine silk velvet, burst forth from Fíliya's fingertips. At incredible speed, they wrapped around the bodies of the several golems, winding dozens of times before the mana coils began to tighten.
Then, the five golems, like tightly bound dumplings, crashed to the ground.
"...Current situation? Understood... Cannot... understand."
The red light in the golem's eyes began to flash rapidly, flickering on and off. It seemed this magical creation was truly confused as to why the human it was supposed to protect would attack it.
"There, there. Just go to sleep for a bit. I'll wake you up later."
Fíliya said this as she reached out and directly plucked off the large gem that represented the golem's eye.
She could tell that this thing was both the mechanism for storing mana and the golem's core. Sure enough, after the gem was removed, the golem immediately fell silent.
"Linie, did you see that clearly? Help me shut down the other four."
Fíliya said, turning to Linie.
Linie nodded quickly and did as she was told. In the span of two breaths, Linie had removed the eyes of the remaining four golems, and she handed all four gems to Fíliya.
Just then, Fíliya noticed Lady Aura walking over with a displeased look on her face, or more precisely, in front of the golem.
With a loud "thump," Lady Aura landed a fierce kick on the golem's head. Then, as if that wasn't enough to vent her anger, she planted her foot directly on the golem's head.
"What's the meaning of 0.03%? A useless hunk of scrap metal like you? I could crush you with my bare hands. How dare you analyze me... Hmph."
Well... Lady Fíliya shook her head helplessly. She also remembered the golem's earlier "combat analysis" of the three demons.
It seemed Aura felt insulted by the golem, which was why she was so angry. She was also very curious as to why, in the golem's calculations, it had a 0.03% chance of winning against Aura.
"Oh my, you really were underestimated, weren't you, Aura? You're both Greater Demons, but in the golem's analysis, Solitär was rated as 'no possibility of victory,' you know?"
Fíliya immediately sidled up to Aura with a mischievous grin, then rested her elbow on Aura's shoulder.
"Tch."
Looked down upon by the golem and now taunted by Lady Fíliya, Aura was so furious that she lifted her foot again and stomped on the golem's head, leaving a clear dent. Fortunately, she had some restraint, knowing Fíliya wanted to study these golems properly, so she didn't use any magical attacks.
"Lady Aura, the golem said its probability of defeating me was 87%."
Linie said this after looking at Aura's angry face, lowering her head in thought for a moment.
"Huh?"
In response, Aura just made a confused sound, completely failing to understand what Linie meant by that.
"She's trying to comfort you, Aura, you who don't understand the human heart."
Fíliya crouched in front of the golem, holding the several golem cores in her hands and toying with them, while not forgetting to continue her teasing of Aura.
"Huh? How is that comforting? And what do you mean I don't understand the human heart? I understand it far better than Solitär, don't I? Fíliya, didn't you say before that I was the most special demon you'd ever met? Have you forgotten?"
Aura said with her arms crossed and a defiant look on her face, though it wasn't clear what she had to be defiant about.
In any case, Fíliya just gave her a perfunctory "yes, yes, yes," and then dove back into her research.
Solitär had already sat down beside her, and even Linie, looking a little unhappy, chose to sit on Fíliya's other side.
"Hey? Don't leave me out... Linie? Can someone please pay attention to me...? Linie, make some room. You can come sit on my lap."
Aura, feeling neglected by the group, began to suppress her embarrassment and tried to squeeze in beside Fíliya.
And Linie, apparently too kind-hearted, actually did make room for Aura.
"Mmm."
A fervent light shone in Fíliya's eyes. She slowly poured her own mana into the gemstone core and began to quietly sense what was inside.
Time passed, minute by minute. Fíliya remained in this meditation-like posture for several hours. Fortunately, she had two Greater Demons standing guard beside her, so she didn't have to worry about any safety issues at all.
During this process, the entire labyrinth experienced another one of those earthquakes, just like the one she had felt in the hidden room before.
But because Fíliya was completely engrossed in her research, even when Solitär saw another room appear in the depths of the labyrinth, she stopped Aura, who was about to go take a look.
Finally, Fíliya opened her eyes.
"Incredible, absolutely incredible... This gemstone has more than ten different, mutually supporting and interlocking magical inscriptions carved into it... The 'advancement' of this golem is simply higher than any golem I've ever seen."
Fíliya exclaimed in admiration. She then quickly stood up and stretched her arms and legs, which had grown a bit sore from holding the same position for so long.
"Linie."
Fíliya called out to Linie.
Understanding implicitly, Linie walked over to Fíliya's side and began to give her a massage.
Mhm, during this time, this human had been constantly instilling in her all sorts of knowledge called 'massage'.
Though Linie didn't know what use this massage really had.
But every time she gave Fíliya one, Fíliya would show a very pleased expression and praise her, saying her Magic Imitation was perfect for learning how to massage.
Mmm... That should count as praise, right?
