Chapter 9 - Is she about to die?

"Boom, boom, boom..."

At this moment, a loud thunderclap sounded in the sky.

Soon, raindrops the size of beans began to fall heavily, hitting An Ran's back one by one.

But she ignored it and cried her heart out, mixed with rainwater. It wasn't until a long time had passed that An Ran finally vented her emotions and got up from in front of the tombstone. Then she took one last look at the photo and left.

When An Ran returned to the villa, she was almost completely drenched. She kept her head down the whole time and was about to enter the gate when a servant stopped her outside with a haughty look on her face.

"Where did this dog come from? Is this a place you can enter?"

The servant carried a basket of vegetables and had thick makeup on her face. She lifted her chin arrogantly and spoke with a self-satisfied expression. An Ran was soaked through and her mood was at an all-time low. She ignored the servant's words and dragged her feet to try to enter, but was pulled back harshly.

"I've seen shameless people before, but I've never seen someone as shameless as you. You have no status and dare to come here and act wild. Do you want to die?"

An Ran remained silent, and the servant became even more angry when she was ignored.

With a sudden force, An Ran fell to the ground, her palms rubbing against the ground, which hurt a lot. At this point, the butler quickly walked in and half-supported An Ran.

"Suxi, what are you saying? If you don't want to stay here, you can resign."

The butler spoke politely, but it was a devastating blow to the servant. Everyone in the imperial city knew that they would rather die than provoke Fu Lengyu.

Su Xi was so scared that she trembled all over, her legs went weak, and she quickly knelt down and knocked her head hard."I'm sorry, steward, please forgive me this time."

The steward gave Su Xi a sideways glance and said fiercely, "Don't let this happen again."

When the steward turned to face An Ran, he put on a different expression.

"Miss An, please come this way."

An Ran nodded and returned to her room.

As soon as she entered the room, An Ran took off all her clothes and walked into the bathroom, which was filled with cold water.

After soaking for ten minutes, she was about to get out of the bathtub when Fu Lengyu's tall figure suddenly pushed open the door and entered her sight.

"Ah... Fu Lengyu, get out..."

Although An Ran had dated Yang Xu before, they had never even kissed, let alone being seen naked by a man.

Fu Lengyu easily saw the woman's curvaceous and charming body with his pitch-black eyes.

His disgust was mixed with infinite anger. He turned around and slammed the door shut with his hand. An Ran panicked and stood up from the bathtub, but twoservants came in with something in their hands.

Almost instinctively, An Ran squatted back into the bathtub and looked at the two servants in confusion.

"What do you want to do?"

A woman's sixth sense is very strong and accurate.

The two maids must have followed Fu Lengyu's orders to do something bad to her. They approached closer and closer, holding ice in their hands. An Ran could see clearly from her position in the bathtub. When they got close enough, they mercilessly poured both buckets of ice into the tub.

"Miss An, Young Master ordered us to give you a refreshing soak since you love taking baths so much, and it's so hot outside." The maids said without any sympathy.

An Ran struggled and shook her head. Her whole body trembled as she was soaked in ice water, and goosebumps appeared all over her skin.

"No, I don't want it. Let me go!" An Ran struggled with all her might.

But the two maids had limited strength. When they couldn't control her, they sneered coldly.

"Miss An, our Young Master said that if you don't cooperate, we'll call the bodyguards. And they'll be male bodyguards." The maids taunted her through gritted teeth, emphasizing each word.

"And, they'll be male bodyguards."

"You... are too much!" An Ran was terrified. After all, she was just an 18-year-old girl. She didn't want male bodyguards, she didn't want them at all.

Her struggling body gradually stopped moving. But the water with ice cubes in it really made her skin hurt.

Finally, when all the ice had melted, the two maids left in disgust. An Ran quickly got out of the tub, crawling and rolling. Her body had become so stiff from being in the water for so long that she almost fell to the ground.

Cold, so cold.

Hot, yet so hot.

Half an hour later, when the servant came to call An Ran for dinner, they realized that she had a fever.

But due to jealousy, no one would like this woman who was like half a master as soon as she arrived.

It wasn't until they had been dawdling in the room for half an hour that they shook An Ran harshly with theirhands.

"Miss An, it's time for dinner."

...As expected, there was no response.

The servant hurriedly pretended to be anxious and ran downstairs, stopping in front of Fu Lengyu, making sure to be noticed.

"Master, something's wrong with Miss An. She has a fever." Unfortunately, Fu Lengyu didn't even spare a glance, casually asking, "Is she about to die?"

The servant was confused for a moment before realizing what he meant."No, she just has a very red face."

The man was calm and composed, speaking lightly, "Contact the family doctor, don't let anyone die."

Half an hour later, the family doctor rushed over with his medical kit. After a detailed examination of An Ran's physical condition, it was determined that there was nothing serious, just a fever that had reached 40 degrees.

Before the doctor could say anything, An Ran, who hadfallen asleep, began to shake all over. Muttering to herself, "It's not me, really, it's not me, you have to believe me, I didn't mean to."

"Dad, Mom, don't leave... don't leave..."

Fu Lengyu's brow furrowed even more tightly. His arm was draped over the sofa, sitting on the edge of danger.

The man's deep gaze glanced lightly at the doctor. "I think she's a bit crazy. Give her a sedative injection to calm down." The doctor didn't have the courage to refuse, but as a doctor, he couldn't violate medical ethics too much.

He respectfully bowed and spoke, sweating profusely. "Sir, a fever doesn't require a sedative."

"Oh?"

The man's magnetic and low voice slightly hooked, sending a chill down the doctor's spine. "What, no sedative needed? Does she need a rabies vaccine then?"
