Chapter 15 - You two look very compatible

The sudden increase in volume silenced the ladies around her, leaving them all staring at her in confusion. The cold smile on An Ran's face gradually faded, replaced by a look of disdain as she looked at An Nanchun.

"Many people mistake me for An Ran, but I am not her. My name is Lin Ranyu. An Ran has a mole between her eyebrows, but I don't. Would you like to check?"

An Nanchun leaned in to take a closer look, but couldn't find the mole. "How is this possible..."

Why not? An Ran remembered the scene where this malicious woman slapped her in an abandoned factory. Hatred surged within her. A series of slaps landed, and sharp nails scraped against her eyebrows. That mole was scraped off by her nails at that time.

At that moment, Fu Lengyu walked over.

An Ran walked up to him and affectionately took his hand. "Yu, can you help me explain? An Nanchun claims to be my aunt and says that I am An Ran. But I don't remember having such a relative."

Fu Lengyu remained silent, his furrowed eyebrows and sharp facial features exuding a cold and stern aura. "What's going on?"

Tang Yu briefly explained the situation, then turned to An Ran. "Miss An, this is not a joke. Your information has been circulating on the internet, and your photos have been shared everywhere. Everyone remembers it."

An Ran had been the subject of various online rumors, and her identity and photos had been exposed by netizens. Those people had mentioned this matter before, but they were all fooled by An Ran's calm and collected demeanor, and didn't give a direct answer.

They were also wary of Fu Lengyu and didn't dare to bring up the online bullying that An Ran had endured before. However, Tang Yu was not afraid because of her strong background. "Mrs. Fu, even if you don't want to admit to what happened in the past, you can't deny who you are. If you're not An Ran, then who are you?"

Tang Yu sneered and looked around at the others, and surprisingly, many of them agreed with her. An Na Chun also noticed the tension between An Ran and Tang Yu, and quickly spoke up in support, "Although those things in the past may have been embarrassing for you, you can't deny your identity, An Ran. I know you've always been willful, but now is not the time to be joking around. We're not blind!"

An Ran glanced at Fu Lengyu, who was frowning more and more tightly. She gritted her teeth and said, "I'm not An Ran, my name is Lin Ran Yu. I hope you won't mistake me for someone else in the future. Whether I'm An Ran or Lin Ran Yu, my husband knows better than anyone else!"

She looked around at everyone, and finally her gaze fell on Fu Lengyu, who had a cold expression. "Husband, why don't you tell everyone whether I'm An Ran or Lin Ran Yu?" Afraidthat Fu Lengyu wouldn't cooperate, An Ran had to use both hard and soft tactics to remind him,

"By the way, husband, you're the CEO of the Imperial Group. How could you have married An Ran, a woman with a scandalous past? Don't you agree?" Faced with everyone's gossiping eyes, Fu Lengyu remained silent. After a while, his beautiful lips curved slightly, but his dim eyes showed no hint of a smile.

"I forgot to introduce my wife. Her name is Lin Ran Yu, not An Ran. As for An Ran, I really don't like that kind of person!" He let go of An Ran's hand as he spoke.

Ever since she found out about his first love, An Ran understood.

That woman named Lin Ranyu was probably the only one he cared about. But she never expected that he, who cared so much for Lin Ranyu, would also help cover for her. It seemed that a man's face was more important than anything else, as he even let her replace Lin Ranyu in public to avoid admitting that he had married a woman with a scandalous past.

He was indeed ruthless.

An Ran looked at An Yuchun, who was full of shock, with nothing but hatred in her heart. "Mrs. Yang, although I know you want to cooperate with my husband's company, I can't interfere in work matters. After all...I don't really understand it! And I heard that your husband's company was also started by you. Well...such a company may not meet the standards for cooperation with the Emperor Group, don't you think so, husband?"

She turned to ask Fu Lengyu. Her words had already conveyed her unwillingness tocooperate with An Yuchun's company.

"After your company passes the A-round of investment, we can talk about cooperation then," Fu Lengyu said, causing An Yuchun's face to change.

She gritted her teeth and forced out a smile uglier than crying. "I remember Mr. Fu's words. I hope you won't forget them when the time comes."

After speaking, she even gave An Ran a vicious look when no one was paying attention.

An Ran ignored her completely and turned to Tang Yu, saying, "Miss Tang, I really envy Mrs. Yang for having such a close friend like you, who is so enthusiastic about helping her make connections for cooperation. You two are really a perfect match!"

As soon as she finished speaking, someone chuckled. The upper-class society was so small that any little movement would be noticed by everyone. Who wouldn't know about the little scandal involving Yang Xu, An Yuchun's husband?

"You two look very compatible...," she said sarcastically. As expected, Tang Yu's face changed immediately, but she had to maintain her composure and replied with a smile, "Don't say that, Mrs. Fu. I just returned to the country not long ago, and I don't have any close friends yet."

An Ran didn't say anything more, but her cold smile hadalready conveyed all her sarcasm. Following Fu Lengyu, they danced the waltz, their bodies so close that they could almost hear each other's heartbeats.

"Since you said your name is Lin Ranyu, don't reveal your true identity and embarrass Ranyu!" An Ran looked up and met a pair of deep, cold eyes. She smiled calmly and naturally followed his rhythm.

"I won't."

In that moment, her calm smile made Fu Lengyu's eyes darken, but he didn't say anything more. After the waltz, thunderous applause filled the room. Fu Lengyu introduced An Ran's identity to everyone on the dance floor, but he didn't call her by her real name.An Ran listened to everyone's compliments and congratulations with a calm, elegant, and joyful smile on her face, but her heart was empty.
