Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: School Life

Chapter 7: School Life

The body martial soul has a major flaw, which is that all soul skills are linked to one's body and triggered through it. If used repeatedly, it becomes easy for enemies to find weaknesses.

To overcome this flaw, battle techniques, or self-created soul skills and combat skills, are needed.

On the entire Douluo Continent, the application of battle techniques is relatively shallow, with many people gradually mastering them through constant soul battles. Some families have created very effective self-created soul skills. For example, the Haotian Sect's Haotian Nine Extremes and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon family's Dragon Transformation. In comparison, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School has more resources in this area.

Apart from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda's unique distraction control skills, there are also techniques like the Seven Killing Sword, and all of this is based on the fact that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School has a wide variety of soul masters, and each generation has corresponding Title Douluos. These Title Douluos can provide a wealth of self-created soul skills for the entire sect.

However, these self-created soul skills vary in quality. The strongest is undoubtedly the Seven Killing Sword of Sword Douluo, but unfortunately, it's not available to ordinary disciples because it's reserved for the core disciples of the sect.

For Yang Xiong, though, all of this was still too early. What he needed most now was to strengthen his body so that he wouldn't fall too far behind in the early stages.

At school, Yang Xiong followed a simple and repetitive routine. Every morning, he exercised his body. He didn't overexert himself in the mornings, but mainly focused on improving his athletic abilities.

After breakfast, he went to school to read books, mostly on various topics including soul master knowledge, and occasionally observed soul power usage techniques. In the afternoon, he focused entirely on intensive training at home, pushing his physical strength to the limit. After each workout, he would be completely exhausted.

Afterward, he would take a medicinal bath, which helped alleviate fatigue and also provided some physical therapy, ensuring that he didn't sustain any injuries.

After dinner, he would meditate with full concentration. Right now, Yang Xiong was not capable of engaging in soul battles and had no real consideration for combat, since he was just a six-year-old child.

It must be said that Ning Rongrong's talent was quite impressive. Less than four months after awakening her martial soul, she was already the first first-year student in the entire sect to obtain a soul ring, which made others around her extremely envious.

However, Ning Rongrong had a bit of a "princess syndrome," and she enjoyed being showered with attention, making her the center of everyone's attention in the class.

Moreover, Ning Rongrong was very generous, often bringing delicious food and toys for her classmates. Sometimes, she even brought out rare and exotic treasures, drawing everyone's attention.

Of course, Ning Rongrong also enjoyed playing pranks on others, constantly performing mischievous acts. Being only six years old, her self-control was lacking, and she often made other children cry after her antics.

She also liked to gather a crowd of people in the sect and cause trouble, turning the sect into a chaotic mess. Even the teachers couldn't do much about it. This was how she earned her nickname, "Little Witch."

In the school, Ning Rongrong and Yang Xiong were polar opposites. Ning Rongrong was the most dazzling presence in the entire academy, while Yang Xiong was the most low-key.

Although they were in the same class, their personalities were completely different, and they hardly interacted.

Yang Xiong had even been pranked by Ning Rongrong a few times, but he didn't mind it at all. Unlike other children, he didn't cry or throw a tantrum. Instead, he was very respectful toward Ning Rongrong and continued to study on his own.

Yang Xiong knew very well that Ning Fengzhi was grooming Ning Rongrong to be the next sect master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School. Due to the inherent flaws of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda martial soul, it could only reach level seventy-nine at most, even as a support-type soul master. To take control of a sect, one needed more than just the martial soul.

For example, the elite class was specially arranged to ensure Ning Rongrong interacted with her classmates more. This would increase her prestige among them and allow her to manipulate their hearts.

This was one of the reasons Ning Fengzhi allowed Ning Rongrong to cause such chaos. Otherwise, a girl wouldn't have any chance of inheriting the sect.

Compared to other top sects, becoming the sect master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School was much harder. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda could only reach level seventy-nine at most, and apart from Ning Fengzhi, there were many other Title Douluos within the sect who had the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile martial soul at the Soul Saint level. But Ning Fengzhi had managed to make the entire sect like an ironclad fortress, and within the sect, his word was law. This kind of authority couldn't be compared to just having two Title Douluos.

Yang Xiong also knew that Ning Rongrong's every move in the sect was probably being watched, and anyone with bad intentions towards her would be dealt with immediately.

The difficulty of cultivating a body martial soul was even greater than Yang Xiong had imagined. While innate soul power at level six was considered a small genius, it still paled in comparison to those with innate soul power at level nine or even full innate soul power.

It took two full years for Yang Xiong to raise his soul power to level ten, making him the slowest among all the students in the class, even slightly slower than those with innate soul power at level five.

It's worth noting that geniuses like Ning Rongrong could increase their soul power by 2.5 to 3 levels each year, and their progress was even faster in the early stages.

However, Yang Xiong didn't rush. He knew that, although the body martial soul progressed slowly in the early stages, it would eventually catch up and surpass others as the cultivation speed increased later on. Especially since he had learned many secrets of the soul master world, which would greatly benefit his future cultivation.

At the moment, Yang Xiong faced a small dilemma: how to deal with the item he had on hand.

During a break, Yang Xiong wandered around Seven Treasure City and, by chance, found something quite useful—a piece of whale glue.

The whale glue was about the size of an egg, and based on its quality, it seemed to be a hundred-year-old whale glue. It was priced at only 100 gold soul coins, and Yang Xiong bought it without hesitation.

Unfortunately, while buying the whale glue, he ran into Ning Rongrong, who was also out shopping.

Ning Rongrong seemed very knowledgeable and immediately recognized that whale glue had an aphrodisiac effect. She looked at Yang Xiong with a strange expression, clearly filled with disdain.

At this point, Yang Xiong was only eight years old. For such a young child to buy whale glue was indeed bizarre, and it was completely out of character for someone as low-key as him.

Ning Rongrong sneered, "Little bear, I didn't expect you to start using whale glue at such a young age. All that innocent look is just an act. Aren't you afraid your parents will find out?"

Yang Xiong was left speechless. "Rongrong, I just thought it was interesting and bought it to collect. Don't overthink it."

Ning Rongrong gave him an exaggerated understanding expression, "I see, I see. Little bear, you don't have to pretend anymore."

Yang Xiong: ...
