As I sat on my throne I thought about the way to deal with the Vaelgrim's, as much as I would like to blow their kingdom away, they are one of the more influential families of the empire. With a territory close to the imperial capital. I cannot simply do as I please if I were to not want to deal with those old bastards.
I tap my finger on the arm rest of my throne, a habit I have picked up over the years. As I thought of what to do.
Then suddenly an idea appeared to me. "Huh, that will work" I said as I got up from my throne and waved my hand, reality shattered and I disappeared from the spot.
..........
Within the capital of the Human Domain, in a huge luxurious palace only rivalled by that of the Lightborn palace in Luminosity, sat within a classic, tasteful ornate office with bookshelves lining the walls and a huge mahogany desk, with a window behind a luxurious leather chair, showing a view on the Imperial Gardens, sat a man that looked no older that 30 but was actually quite a bit older.
He had long light blonde hair, almost yellow even, and striking blue eyes. With thin lips and sword like eyebrows, he looked quite serious and poised. He had a royal blue mage attire on, with a cloak that pooled at his large feet as he sat at the desk going through paperwork. 'The life of an Emperor is never easy' he thought.
He then thought of an old friend who was very good at delegating his responsibilities instead of being responsible for them. He laughed lightly, a rare sight for anyone who knew him. This was of course Aurelius Estoria - second name deriving from the name of the human empire. He was the emperor of the this empire and an Emperor Mage.
As he was sorting through paperwork and reminiscing about old times, the air around him stilled as if waiting for some unseen event to occur, Aurelius being an Emperor Mage instantly sensed the disturbance in the air, but only shook his head with a small smile.
He knew what and who this was, anyone at Great Mage and above could make this happen, it was instant personal long distant teleportation. And there is only one such mage that he can think of that would be ballsy enough to appear within his office. The man he was only just thinking of a moment before.
Just as he was thinking all this, reality shattered, and instantly repaired itself and the place in front of him, which was empty moments ago, was now filled with the figure of a tall man with wavy long, golden hair, that seems to shine in the light, while his piercing golden eyes surveyed the office with mild curiosity and recognition; before training his eyes back on the figure at the desk.
Who at this point in time, leaned back and spoke casually. "So, what or who do I owe the pleasure of this meeting to, old friend?" He smiled and then said "Because you sure as hell don't just turn up for a casual chat, that hurts y'know?!" Aurelius spoke, with a mock sad expression on his face.
Kyros, stepped forward then sat at one of the chairs like he had done this a 100 times before, "Stop acting like a child every time, it wasn't funny all the way back at the academy, and it isn't now either." said Kyros with a scowl on his face.
Aurelius shot back "C'mon, Kyros lighten up. Heh get it?" Kyros eye twitched, then he visibly calmed himself down, but before he could continue on with why he was here, Aurelius said with an amused smile "Dear Kyros, a little birdy told me that you are now a father! I couldn't believe it! You a father hahaha, what the hell is that all about?"
Kyros expression was now cold. As he fired back "I really wish I could kill you sometimes" Which Aurelius replied with a mock surrender of his hands "Woah, woah, Mr. father of the year, that is no way to speak. You need to be a role model!" then he continued "And don't you remember all those glorious memories together? You love me really."
Then an almost audible sigh of defeat left Kyros's mouth before replying "Yes I am now a father, I knew the news would travel fast, but this was unexpectedly quick." Aurelius now more happy than ever to have won their verbal bout quickly said "Well then give me the juicy details on this, would you? Its not the same when you hear it through informants. Also, when can I see my little niece?"
As the words left his mouth Kyros thought to just give him what he wants, so he can get to the more relevant points of his visit. So, he went through the whole story of how he went to that kingdom, to feeling the blood resonance and everything after.
Kyros already realised the little king probably told Aurelius the news and probably about the deal too, but here was the thing, not many people knew of their friendship, and those that did didn't know how deep it really went. And Kyros used that like a weapon. However, the emperor used him in just the same way, their relationship had developed over the years to this point.
As he was thinking this, Aurelius spoke up "Wow, that's a lot to take in. And how tragic..." He said with slight sadness in his tone. "The fact that a child had to see their mother, killed in such a way. I'm guessing now, you are here for another one of your little 'deals'? What do you want this time? And what do I get in return?" Even though he had a suspicion of what he wanted.
Kyros then straightened, "the Vaelgrim's." he stated firmly.
This made the eyebrows of Aurelius arch up slightly "You want the Vaelgrim's? Interesting. Well, I wouldn't exactly miss them, however what will you give me in return for this? Remember you already went behind my back and snatched up that Grand Dungeon."
As he said this the air in the room seemed to hold its breath, but then Kyros simply said "Oh please, Aurelius, we are both leaders of differing factions, it is only right for us to take what we want and gain as many benefits for our faction as possible. You would have done the same. As long as we do not confront each other directly, all is fair game."
Aurelius paused as he heard this, then nodded slowly while saying "Indeed my friend, this is the way of our world. Very well, lets get on with the negotiations."
