Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Fight For My Very Existence Part 1

As all these spells converged on me within a moment, I didn't panic, I have experienced worse I thought grimly, then I moved.

Imbuing light into my legs I broke the ice apart, as loud, sharp, crack sounds were heard all around me, then I sidestepped the dwarfs strike, then hit out with a sword made of light, striking the dwarf across the chest before he had time to reform his rock armour, making him fly of and join the wolfman. Then I turned my attention to the fiery meteors, arriving overhead, like some kind of volcanic eruption, I simply waved my hand as hundreds of light shaped lances appeared and flew to meet the meteors and exploded them mid-air BOOM! BOOM!

All of this happened in a blur to the mortal eyes, as I turned myself to the large fist, as big as a building, I simply stepped forward, then BANG! My small fist met the corrupted spirit golems large one and it seemed as reality around me was about to give way, before the golem disintegrated from the force of the impact.

As I stood there, like a one-man-army, staring at Marcus, the demon, and the weird elf, they all looked pale from fright, seeing how easily I turned the tables. Just as this staring contest was beginning, the wolfman and dwarf somehow made it back to their comrades sides, which surprised me, considering they were able to survive a hit from a Grand Mage. Just what power were these bastards using?

.....

Above the crater, where the five Commanders of the Abyss were standing, panting from the brief exchange, they were looking down at what they perceived as a monster in human skin, Marcus growled "What the fuck? With our Blessing of the Abyss enhancing us, and the corruptive power the blessing affords us, we should have overwhelmed him, even if he had the light element!" The others nodded, with grave expressions, before the demon, Dragoth, spoke icily "I told you not to underestimate Lightborn, he is an enigma." As they were almost arguing with each other, they all heard a clear deep voice, penetrate the surroundings coming from the crater, and what they heard made their spines tingle with fear. It was just words, simply words. However, there was nothing simple about the meaning behind them for the Commanders of the Abyss.

Domain, Absolute Light Sanctuary.

They all couldn't believe it, he was a Grand Mage? Since when?!

....

Diablo POV:

As I ran into the fray and started to hack n slash to my hearts content, as blood sprayed left and right, as my demonic claws cut into flesh, I could not help the gleeful expression that appeared on my face. Could I use my dark element magic to wipe all these insects out in one area spell? Yes! Will I? No! They don't deserve to be killed in such a way, that element is something I pride myself on, I am one of only a few to be blessed with it in this world. They are simply not worthy. Well, really I just want to enjoy myself, hehehehe.

As I was laughing to myself giddily, I heard my masters battle to my left had quietened down, with interest I looked over as I casually sliced the throat of another insect and his blood sprayed all over my face, paining it red. I could see the huge crater, the castle that was half falling down and five people giving off a sinister aura and feeling, even for me. It seems my master is playing with his food I thought, until I heard those words, especially that specific one. And it made me want to get this massacre over with to be able to watch...

.......

After I cast my domain, which in retrospect was partly because I wanted to test my new power, and I had willing volunteers, and partly because I didn't like to leave fights up to chance, these people, they were different, weird, corrupted, by something foreign. I did not want to be caught off guard again. So I used it, my, now, greatest weapon. My domain.

As it formed around me and them as a throne materialised under me, forcing me into it, while it shot up into the air within the domain and above it and me, a golden, blazing sun appeared, then the rest of the domain formed around me. A barren dried land, as if the blazing golden, sun and the light that was emitted, was too much for life to be sustained, an insane contradiction.

The air around me sizzled with heat, the light was almost blinding and the blue sky seemed almost too perfect, no cloud in sight. However, there was one other thing that formed and it was a white, marble temple, some may say a sanctuary, that was below where I was seated on the throne as a sort of lifeline in this harsh light filled environment. As if saying, anyone that was brought in here, if you can make it to the temple, you will be saved and forgiven for your trespasses. Insane. I thought. Does this mean that my future potential and direction of my power is holy light? Maybe I will be able to evolve the light element? But I thought there wasn't a higher version?

As I was lost in my thoughts, the commanders were nearly burning and disintegrating under just the environment of my domain, they didn't have time to take in its grandeur, they were just trying to pump whatever corrosive and corrupt energy they were 'blessed' with through themselves to keep themselves alive. At this point they were at my mercy, they were just Emperor Mages, whom were given a boost by some high existence to allow them to break the limits of their talent and fight on par with a Great Mage. However, even a Great Mage, no matter how talented, in front of a Grand Mage and their domain, were nothing.

Before I end them, I should try and figure out what the hell is going on, It seems I was right to follow my gut feeling, the world is feeling more and more foreign and hiding many secrets.

I was just about to torture them to find out some key intel, and then go see if Diablo had finished up his little slaughter, knowing him, he took his time. I thought as I shook my head.

Then, suddenly, I felt my domain being breached.

What the hell...
