Diablo POV:
I snapped my fingers and shadowy, dark, tendrils sprung from the ground like vipers as they bit into and grabbed the remaining insects and started to rip, bite and drag them into the ground.
All around me, all you could hear was screaming and screeching, and all I thought in that moment was 'huh they really are tougher than the usual Lord and King Mages to be able to last that long' then without a thought, while the insects were fighting for their lives, I turned back to watch my master in action. Even though all one could see when a domain is activate is just a circular dome.
The air suddenly became heavy, and thick with tension. The remaining insects around me, those that were not being attacked by my area spell, that is, held their breath as if they knew something I didn't.
Then, they appeared, only five of the them, but I instantly knew, they were powerful, a lot more than I. Even though I hate to admit it.
As soon as they appeared, the insects fell onto one knee, respect clear in their expressions, the five though, they just looked over with distain. "Tch, what a waste, all those resources pumped into them, the blessing and yet they couldn't even deal with one Emperor Mage, pathetic!" Shouted the demon.
The others with him nodded in understanding, but the older female human, who it seems is the calm one of their group simply said "Calm yourself, Zenith, they were only a temporary measure, and also there are many where they came from." As she said this, even though it was quiet and calm, I and those insects could hear it as clear as day, as I sidelong glanced at them, I could see them visibly tense at these peoples words.
As I was thinking this, the elf of the group, a tall, graceful man with long arms a characteristic of elves, and bright green eyes and forest green hair, floated over using what seemed to be his element of air, up to my masters domain that was centred within the crater and said "It seems he succeeded, I guess those informants are not as useless as some in our organisation." The others seemed to nod in understanding.
Before the dwarf, a slim but stocky younger looking man with brown hair and eyes, seemed to knock his intricately designed staff on the dirt floor, maybe it was a habit. "So, what's the plan?" he said in an uncharacteristically calm and lazy way for a dwarf even though I know there are dwarfs like them out there, ones that have lived for centuries.
As I was thinking this, still stuck in my place from the sheer presence of all these powerful beings in front of me, the demon, Zenith, as I remember the woman calling him, a middle aged man with hair as black as mine, with yellow eyes like a reptile, a scruffy beard, while wearing what seemed to be, common noble attire, loudly declared "Lets just break in and deal with him already! He is just a newly minted Grand Mage with barely a hundred years under his belt!"
A massive, giant of a beastkin, a bearman, with the head of a bear and the large, burly body of a humanoid, teeth as large as some grown men's fingers and eyes as white as the clouds; could be seen nodding frantically, in a way that conveyed his excitement for facing a potentially strong foe.
The others seemed to agree as well, as they all floated down to the domain, using differing elements and encircled it, not wanting to miss an opportunity to deal with my master easily.
As they were about to breach it, I somehow found the strength, for the sake of my master, to confront them. I could not allow them to weaken my master, even if temporary, It would be the end of him when faced with these five.
So I moved.
Using my dark element, I pushed my mana through me at an alarming rate and appeared behind the demon - Zenith's - shadow, ready to strike, to do anything to delay them, even though I know it is futile.
As I appeared and was about to conjure a dagger made of darkness, Zenith, seemed to sense me instantly and created lava whips that lashed out of the ground like snakes and wrapped around my body. Burning my skin and making my bones show through my arms, as blood evaporated from the sheer heat of the spell.
I was left dangling there, just slowly burning, in the air, as the others turned to look in interest, like if one were were to pick up a bug to inspect it. I screamed from the pain, anger and humiliation.
Then before I succumbed to the pain and injuries accumulating on my body, I heard "Unhand my butler, demon."
'Ah master, glad I bought you enough time and.... forgive.... my weakness.' I thought, before slowly blacking out.
