The legend of Magearna was deliberately kept secret, known only to a few through whispers and tales. Carl explained, "The reason is simple: it's an artificial creature."
"An artificial creature?" The people around were taken aback.
At that moment, a figure wearing glasses appeared—it was Mewtwo. As another creature created by humans, it took interest in Carl's words.
"Besides me, are there others created by humans?" Mewtwo's voice echoed in everyone's minds.
Carl set down his teacup and pointed towards the front yard. "There's one right over there."
Everyone looked in the direction he indicated and saw a quadruped creature standing quietly.
"A Full Attribute creature?" Lusamine exclaimed in surprise. Although she had been here since yesterday, she hadn't noticed this creature's presence.
Lillie, curious, asked, "What kind of creature is this Full Attribute?" She knew it was a gift from the mythical Mew to Carl but was clueless about its origins and abilities. Lusamine candidly explained to Lillie, "This creature was developed under my guidance, utilizing resources from the Aether Foundation, inspired by the mythical Arceus."
This revelation left everyone stunned. Another artificial creature? Didn't Mewtwo say it was an unrepeatable accident? How come Magearna was created earlier, and Lusamine was conducting similar research?
"You mentioned who as a reference?" Cynthia reacted the most intensely. As a descendant of the temple's lineage, Arceus was her revered entity, and she found it hard to accept that anyone would attempt to replicate the Creator.
Lusamine clarified, "We only borrowed the concept of Arceus's full attributes; the actual research subjects, like Team Rocket's, are still inspired by Mew." Hearing this, Cynthia's expression softened a bit. After all, Arceus's power derived from its plates, which couldn't be easily replicated.
However, the Mew in Lillie's arms was not pleased. As an ancestral creature, it seemed it could never escape the fate of being studied.
"This is the starter creature I prepared for you," Lusamine said to her daughter. Lillie's heart warmed, realizing her mother had always been thinking of her.
Serena asked curiously, "This Full Attribute creature must be powerful, right?" She glanced at Mewtwo, knowing it was one of the best examples.
"Its strength is average, just at champion level," Lusamine replied, a bit disappointed. Mewtwo nodded in agreement. When it was first created, it was at this level, and now it possesses the power of a secondary deity. In their eyes, champion-level strength was nothing extraordinary.
Mewtwo was indifferent, but the others couldn't stay calm. Serena and Caitlin were both shocked; it seemed absurd.
"Who would use a champion-level creature as a starter partner? Especially such a rare artificial creature. Even if it doesn't match a legendary beast, it should at least be on par with a pseudo-legendary, right? This is just too much."
"Mom, since when did you learn to brag so modestly?" Lillie couldn't help but tease.
Lusamine, however, smiled mysteriously. "You don't understand. According to my plan, Full Attribute isn't complete yet. The most crucial step is unfinished."
"When that step is complete, it will reach the level of a tertiary deity. And with a special device, it can freely change attributes, choosing its trainer as it pleases."
"It's still far from finished."
Everyone fell silent.
"It's almost there, actually," Carl suddenly spoke.
"What do you mean?" Lusamine raised an eyebrow. "You're not saying you understand this too, are you?"
She was confident in her research. From design to experimentation, she was involved in every step personally. No one knew Full Attribute better than she did.
"Why wouldn't I understand?" Carl retorted.
Lusamine was about to argue when she paused, sensing something.
Carl waved his hand toward the distance. "Full Attribute, it's time to come here!"
A dazzling white light instantly enveloped Full Attribute. Within the light, its form started to change. When the light dissipated, a brand new creature appeared before everyone.
Unlike the slightly rough Full Attribute before, this creature's appearance was more harmonious. It had a bird-like head, with its top resembling spread wings, a beast-like body, and a tail akin to a fish's. Although it was still a combination of various biological traits, it appeared as a seamless whole.
"It... it evolved?" Lusamine was at a loss for words, visibly shocked.
She couldn't comprehend what had just happened. Her carefully crafted Full Attribute had been renamed by Carl, and now it had evolved in his hands. Could Carl understand this creature better than she did?
"Silver Guardian Beast, come here!" Carl called, pleased with the silver figure shining under the sunlight.
The Silver Guardian Beast let out a low growl, having completely shed its mask's constraints. Its wildness was greater than before evolution, and its senses had become sharper. However, as Lusamine had hoped, it remained loyal only to the trainer it recognized.
And now, that person was Carl.
A silver light flashed, and the Silver Guardian Beast appeared beside Carl. Carl gently stroked its fur and climbed on its back.
"Feels good," Carl nodded in satisfaction, turning to Lusamine. "What do you think?"
Lusamine remained silent, disbelief etched on her face.
"I told you, I know more than you can imagine." Carl dismounted from the Silver Guardian Beast and took out a premium Poké Ball.
The Silver Guardian Beast touched the Poké Ball without hesitation, vanishing in a red glow.
"This creature was given to me by Mew, so I can't return it to you," Carl said, fastening the Poké Ball to his waist. "If you have any objections, you can discuss it directly with Mew."
Lusamine showed a helpless expression. Go talk to the mythical Mew? That was a joke.
"Do you think I can find Mew?" she countered.
Carl glanced at Lillie, who immediately raised the doll in her hand. "Mom, this is Mew."
"Aren't you missing the word 'doll'?"
"No, this doll, like Groudon and Kyogre, is Mew in disguise."
Lusamine was momentarily speechless.
Groudon, Kyogre, Mew, along with Mewtwo and the Silver Guardian Beast, plus the crystallized Deoxys trio—how many legendary creatures did Carl actually possess?
"Mom, you can negotiate with Mew. As long as it's not too much, she'll agree, right?" Lillie smiled at Mew.
Mew was silent for a moment, then nodded quietly.
As long as she wasn't made to act like a witch, anything was negotiable.
"Forget it!"
Though tempted, Lusamine was clear-headed. Mew's willingness to cooperate was entirely because of Carl, and she didn't want to overstep.
"I can do without the Silver Guardian Beast. Even if you return it to me now, I won't accept it," she told Carl. "But for its sake, can you tell me how Full Attribute evolves?"
Rather than acquiring uncertain benefits from Mew, she was more interested in mastering the evolution method for Full Attribute. This way, she and Lillie could each have a Silver Guardian Beast, truly safeguarding themselves.
