The first thing Euler felt after those words was the smell of salt sea, the noise of water, and the cold of the stone beneath her.
She opened her eyes but saw nothing—it was absolutely dark.
She panicked, thinking she had gone blind, but soon her eyes began to adjust to the darkness, and she started to see.
First,she was completely naked.
Second, she was standing on what seemed like a stone wall or a tower, and nothing was visible on either side—it was too dark—but from the direction of the battlements, she could hear the sound of water.
So without delay, she summoned her clothing, thanking the gods she was lucky to have it, and sat down on the stone, waiting for her eyes to see even better.
Meanwhile, she decided she was near the Stormy Sea, as she didn't know of any other places with water.
But why was it so dark here? And what was this stone wall beneath her?
As she pondered, her eyes adapted to the dark, and gradually her vision improved.
And so,after about an hour of staying put, she was finally able to get a better look at her location.
It was definitely a wall.
A huge stone wall made of ancient rock.
On one side, almost at the edge of the wall, water splashed, while on the other, the outlines of buildings were visible, and strange sounds could be heard: screams, creaks, shrieks.
Euler pondered what to do next.
She was in an unknown place.Darkness surrounded her, likely full of Abominations, and very strong ones at that.
And she had to survive in such a place somehow.
But how?
With a sigh,Euler started moving along the wall, choosing one direction.
She did so slowly, mostly sneaking, and also scanning her surroundings to avoid stumbling upon an Abomination.
After passing several dozen battlements,Euler saw a tall building standing very close to the wall—about a meter away.
It was a large three-story house with a time-worn tiled roof.
All the windows were completely missing, and the door existed only in memories, as a huge gap now adorned the entrance.
There were also several large holes in the tiles, offering a way down to the ground.
Euler was intrigued by this, but first, she decided to walk a bit further to see if there was a descent path ahead.
Another half an hour of studying the wall yielded nothing,so she eventually returned to the house option.
Approaching the edge of the wall,Euler cautiously listened for anything strange.
But apart from distant screams and the noise of water, she heard nothing.
So,filling her lungs, she took a running start and jumped.
It was her first time jumping such a distance in such a dangerous place, but she decided to try a roll to reduce the impact force.
It was a bad idea.
She landed quite quietly, and not a single tile fell, but due to the ribbed state of the roof and an awkward landing, she hit her head hard on a tile, creating a sound of ceramic being struck.
Not letting the pain take over, she pressed herself against the roof and went on high alert, remaining motionless.
But everything went smoothly;despite the slight noise, she didn't see or hear anyone.
Slowly rising to her hands and knees,Euler began crawling further across the roof until she reached one of the holes.
Peering into the hole, she saw debris from some furniture, roof shards, and lots of dust below.
Euler decided to try descending into this room.
Turning feet first, she grabbed the edge of the roof with her hands and slowly began lowering herself down.
When she was about a meter from the floor, she realized she was just hanging, so without delay, she dropped.
Thanks to her soft boots and proper technique, there was almost no noise, yet a huge cloud of dust rose. She almost coughed but managed to clamp her nose in time and froze in a half-squat, waiting for the dust to settle.
Then she looked around.
Inside, the room seemed more intact than the outside suggested: despite the devastation and disorder, a thick oak door was in place, with a large padlock hanging from it.
In the corner stood a stone stool piled with trash, the window was blocked by a broken wardrobe, and the walls and ceiling, except for the one hole she had come through, were intact.
Surprisingly, there was even a metal chair in the corner; traces of upholstery were visible on it, though the fabric had long since decayed.
Euler cautiously began exploring the place she had discovered.
And in the end,it turned out to be quite well-protected.
In the corner, behind a pile of debris, she found another passage leading to a small room with a bed, a chest full of clothes, and an armchair in the corner.
And they were even very comfortable and intact—the fabric just needed washing, but otherwise, it was quite alright.
Even the door was in place, though its lock had been torn out.
After inspecting both rooms,Euler concluded they were quite decent for staying here; she just needed to solve the problem of the hole in the ceiling—overall, not too difficult.
Euler decided to tidy up a bit and, trying to be as quiet as possible, began pushing piles of junk and debris towards the walls. Nevertheless, her caution failed her: while moving one of the piles, the wardrobe blocking the window fell with a crash.
Euler froze, not knowing what to do.
Her mind raced feverishly:what to do and how to escape?
After the wardrobe fell,a silence fell, undisturbed by anything.
After standing like that for a couple of minutes,Euler had just decided she'd gotten away with it when she suddenly heard the sound of many feet moving across the roof.
"What do I do?"
Euler was panicking, but for now, she held it together and didn't break down.
She had definitely attracted the attention of some Abomination, and that boded nothing good.
Euler quickly moved deeper into the room when she suddenly saw the Abomination itself—or rather, three of them.
They were huge spiders, about 70 centimeters long. One was crawling through the roof hole, and the other two were climbing in through the newly exposed window.
They had eight disgusting legs,a furry abdomen, mandibles dripping with some kind of fluid, and two front legs shaped like sharp blades that left marks on the wood every time they touched it, confirming they were very sharp.
Euler was in a panic, not knowing what to do.
Suddenly, one of the spiders, the one coming from the ceiling through the roof hole, jumped at her, and she raised her hands in panic.
At that moment, her ability activated, responding to her desire to protect herself.
A sound of thunder cracked, the air smelled of ozone, and Euler suddenly felt as if an electric current had been discharged through her.
The last thing she saw before losing consciousness was lightning from her hands striking the spiders, killing them in a chain reaction and leaving only smoldering carcasses.

Heh, hi anyway, it's me, the author. Yes, I know my book isn't the best, that the dialogue is bad, and that I have a lot of mistakes. But I'm trying to fix them and work on them. I don't use AI at all, so it turns out this way. I hope you still like it, since I'm working on my mistakes!
