(a/n : exams are finally over. now exams results are going to be revealed very soon . but who knows what is going to happen in the time being.😉😉😁.
hey by the way i want to ask you all question in which class you all are right now . or working . just like this only to know my besties more nicely .)
I opened the door and froze. There they all were—, Percy, Ella, Rakki, Mica, Freya—plus the usual chaos of Section E invading my house like they owned it. thank god devil, oops sry kuya angelo is out for work
"Jay! Finally!" Rory waved a cookie like a flag. "You missed the pre-party chaos!"
Edrix dramatically flopped onto the couch. "I was this close to dying of boredom… or starvation. Probably both."
Cin smirked, leaning back like a cat who knew it owned the world. "And here she is. The chaos commander herself. Sit, join, prepare for embarrassment."
I arched an eyebrow. "Embarrassment? Nah. I thrive in chaos." 😏
Keifer, leaning casually against the wall, gave me that infuriating smirk. "And I thrive in protecting you from chaos… mostly the dangerous kind."
I rolled my eyes. "You mean the imaginary kind?"
"Never imaginary, chaos commander." He winked.
We settled into the living room, snacks everywhere, music blasting. Someone—probably Rory—grabbed a bottle.
"Spin the bottle, baby!" Rory yelled. "Let's start with some Truth or Dare chaos!"
Of course, chaos started immediately. Rory dared Drew to eat a whole chocolate bar without chewing. cin dared edrix to confess who he actually had a crush on—he just smirked. felix and Calix bickered over nothing, while edrix's crush on freya became painfully obvious.
Finally, the bottle stopped spinning on me.
Cin's grin widened. "Truth or dare, Jay-jay?"
I smirked, "Dare. Always dare. Bring it."
"Show us… the video of you singing. That one you never told anyone about."
My stomach flipped. "Oh no… not this…"
I reluctantly pressed play on my phone. My angelic voice filled the room, soft and clear. Then, in the background, faint but distinct, were four other voices harmonizing perfectly—mysterious, haunting, familiar… the voices of my childhood friends.
The room froze. Even the music seemed to pause.
Rory's jaw dropped. "She… sounds like an angel!"
Edrix dramatically collapsed into a pile of pillows. "I… I can't… she's unfair!"
Mica clapped, eyes sparkling. "Wow… seriously, Jay?"
Calix smirked, leaning toward her. "Why didn't you sing at the festival?"
I swallowed. "I… promised someone I'd never sing without them. It's been years, and… I haven't practiced."
Keifer's grin stiffened. His jaw tightened, eyes flicking to the mysterious voices in the video. Protective and jealous all at once.
Yuri, sitting quietly, couldn't hide his tension. His subtle smirk faded, replaced with… unease. He leaned back, arms crossed. He, too, knew the weight of those voices.
Cin, oblivious, grinned. "Wait! Why didn't you ever show this before? This is LEGENDARY!"
Rory leaned forward, wide-eyed. "Those voices! Who are they?"
I bit my lip, shaking my head. "I can't… it's a promise. No faces, no names."
Keifer leaned closer to me, whispering with a teasing edge but a hint of jealousy: "Not telling me… hmm? You trust their voices more than mine?" 😏
I elbowed him lightly. "Keep dreaming, Mr. Protector-of-Jealousy."
Yuri's corner laugh made me turn. He was amused… but tense. Protective. Calculating. I grinned, enjoying the subtle chaos.
Flashback – Childhood Promise
I was eight, running barefoot in the backyard, the sun painting the grass golden. My childhood friends—four boys whose voices now echoed in the video—were chasing me, laughing like idiots.
"Jay! Don't run!" one shouted. I tripped over a flower pot, sending us all tumbling into a pile of grass and dirt.
We laughed so hard it hurt. Then, out of nowhere, one of them—my dearest friend, my brother by promise—said, "Promise, Jay. Promise we'll always sing together. Never alone. No matter what."
I nodded, brushing the dirt from my knees. "Promise. Always together. Even if we grow up, even if we're far apart."
Another voice joined, soft and steady: "One day, we'll sing again, and it'll be perfect. You'll see."
We made that promise under the golden sun, barefoot, muddy, and utterly chaotic. And we meant it.
Years later, hearing their voices in that video… the memories hit me like a tidal wave. Funny, warm, and painfully bittersweet
