Yeah. Even through the screen, I could feel Keifer's jealous aura.And Yuri's silence? That was new.
I sighed, walking into the kitchen. My hair looked like a bird's nest, and I was still in my hoodie from last night.
Angelo was sipping coffee."Fun night?"
"If by fun you mean chaos, then yeah. Totally."
Before I could blink, my phone buzzed again.Keifer: "I'm outside. Come out."

Keifer leaned on his bike outside, hair messy, eyes half-asleep but still looking unfairly good."Morning, sunshine," he said, handing me coffee.
I raised a brow. "You came here just to stalk me before school?"

He shrugged, lips twitching. "Not jealous. Justā¦ curious. Who are they? And why did you sound like you were smiling while singing with them?"
"You analyze my smiles now?" I said, grinning.

He chuckled, holding my wrist before I could walk off. "You said you'd never sing without them, right? Soā¦ you'll sing with me next time?"
"Nice try, Watson. You're not replacing my childhood choir."
He frowned, eyes softening for a second. "I just don't like thinking someone else made you that happy, Jay."

The minute we entered the classroom, chaos exploded.Cin was acting like the show host of a gossip channel.

"Cin, I swearā" Keifer started, but Cin hid behind Rakki, laughing.
Rory waved his phone. "We replayed your song ten times!"
Drew added, "We even slowed it down for angelic effect!"
blaster squealed. "Jay, sing again!"
"NO!" I yelled, hiding behind my bag.
David laughed softly. "She's blushing. Confirmed angel."
Keifer instantly threw his arm around me. "Alright, that's enough angel talk. The angel's taken."
"Taken?" david snorted. "By who? You?"
Keifer smirked. "You wanna test that, david?"
Everyone ooh'd. Even Yuri chuckled quietly from his deskājust onceābut it was enough to make Keifer glare.
He muttered under his breath, "Even the broody one's laughing now."
I elbowed him. "Relax. Yuri's not stealing me."
"Yeah, but he's my best friend," Keifer said quietly, "and I don't like when he stares at you like that."
Yuri turned his gaze away, pretending to read, but the tension was thick.Everyone felt itābut no one dared mention it.
Cin popped up again, as usual. "Sooo Jay, about those four voicesā"
Before he could finish, Keifer wrapped his arm around my shoulder, pulling me close."She's not taking interviews today," he said.
Cin blinked. "Possessive much?"
"Call it 'exclusive rights,'" Keifer grinned, smug.
"Call it clingy," I muttered, trying to pull away.
He only pulled me closer. "I can live with clingy." š
Yuri watched from the end of the hallway, his expression unreadable.He wasn't jealousāmore like uneasy.The hitlist was still active. He knew something Jay didn'tāsomething that made every laugh around her feel dangerous.
He looked at Keifer, then at me.Protect her. Before it's too late.
I leaned against the railing, eating chips. Keifer plopped beside me.
"Hey," I said, "you've been staring at me all day."
"Correction," he said, smiling lazily. "I've been guarding you all day."
I laughed. "So you're my bodyguard now?"
He shrugged. "If the job comes with coffee and you smiling, yeah."
I rolled my eyes. "You're hopeless."
He grinned, leaning closer, eyes soft now. "Hopelessly into you, yeah."
I snorted, tossing a chip at him. "You sound like a bad Wattpad quote."
He caught the chip, laughing. "And you love it."
I smiled, quiet for a second. "Maybe I do."
Somewhere below, Yuri stood by the gate, phone in hand, scanning the area.The League's report had just come in.
Jay's name was still on the list.And nowā¦ so was Keifer's.
Yuri clenched his jaw, whispering to himself:"Damn it, Jay. You have no idea what's coming."
