A few hours after Jax left the classroom in his calculated rage, he was summoned to Lysandra's office.
The students had complained. Filed formal grievances about his behavior. Expressed confusion about what they were supposed to do next. Their beloved professor had insulted them, called them gutter trash, and stormed out without any guidance.
Lysandra lectured him for what felt like an eternity. Her voice sharp. Her words cutting. Her disappointment palpable.
Jax was completely unbothered. He spent most of the scolding session scratching his ears. Yawning occasionally. Examining the dirt under his fingernails with great interest.
Lysandra knew the truth. Removing him from his position based on these acts alone would be nearly impossible. He had good backing now. Connections with royalty. And his recent deeds during the demon incident served as a divine protection of sorts.
He was taking full advantage of that immunity. And they both knew it.
