A man knelt before the absolute sovereign.
His eyes burned with the flame of wisdom, while his back suffered continuously from a dark wound.
...
"!?"
Dian suddenly woke up again.
He looked up, only to find himself in his poor apartment once more.
He recalled what he had seen moments after clicking the lock button on his status settings. A frown appeared on his face.
"What was that?" he muttered, clutching his head.
As he tried to analyze his previous 'sight,' it gradually faded away, becoming something he could hardly remember, let alone analyze.
Since he couldn't do anything about it, Dian eventually gave up on that matter.
He shifted his focus back to the phone in his hands.
The ads interface was gone, replaced by an otherworldly 3D avatar of himself, with his dialed status beside it and a large green [Start] button beneath.
He could easily close the page, just like shutting down an ordinary mobile game. Now, on his phone, he found a new app or game named *Lucifer's Legacy*.
Dian stared intently at the game's icon, his mind drifting back to the moment he had suddenly appeared in a white space to set his status. There was absolutely no technology capable of doing that on Earth at the time.
The closest thing was VR technology, but it still lacked the immersion he had felt at that moment. It felt like dreaming in that white space; all his five senses felt normal. Yet, after he woke up, his memory was somewhat fragmented and hard to recall. No VR technology produced such an after-effect, especially since he wasn't wearing any VR device.
So, in the end, what had just happened?
Dian pondered this question for a while but soon gave up. Letting out a tired sigh, he said, "Ah, whatever. Mysterious? Okay, okay... But that doesn't really matter to me anyway..."
"Since I am about to die," he saved the continuation of his thought for himself, his expression turning neutral again.
He pinched his chin as he deliberated whether or not to continue playing the game. In the end, since he was quite interested in the game and wanted to see what would happen next, he casually clicked the button to start the game.
The next thing he remembered, he was standing on a vast grassy plain.
A transparent panel suddenly appeared before him.
[Welcome to World 4-780, Savatia.]

Seeing the quest he received, Dian couldn't help but exclaim, "So game-like!"
Then another panel appeared before him.
[Current Heir Candidate Rank: 370th.]
"I see..."
After carefully reviewing all the panels that appeared before him, as well as checking his status, level, and skills once again, Dian finally began to grasp the purpose of this game.
"In the end, isn't this just a regular ranking-based game?"
His interest in the game nearly evaporated when he suddenly realized that he was... standing!
A pleasant surprise spread across his face, and his fingers trembled as he struggled to contain his excitement.
Slowly, he pushed one leg forward. As his leg obediently responded to his brain's command and took a step, Dian could no longer maintain his calm.
"I... can walk!?"
No longer were there heavy, aching legs that he couldn't move. Now, his legs felt strong, ever stonger and more agile than he could ever remember.
While he continued to stroll and jump around to test his legs' abilities, he finally recognized that everything around him looked and felt incredibly real—almost tangible.
The fresh air, the chill of the spring breeze, the gentle sway of the grass, the buzzing of insects, and the chirping of birds...
Everything seemed so real. Unbelievably real.
"Is this... a game?"
If it weren't for the presence of a log-out button at the bottom of his status menu, Dian would have certainly believed that he had mysteriously traveled to this place by some means beyond comprehension.
And there was no VR device or anything similar.
'Only a phone... for all this?'
As Dian continued to marvel at the events he was experiencing, a group of small, green creatures entered the plain from the corner of his vision.
He looked up to see them, and suddenly, transparent panels appeared above their heads, displaying their status.

'So weak!'
That was his first impression of these little, ugly creatures. Compared to him—with all his skills and stats—they seemed like children in the presence of an adult.
"So that's what it means to be at the top. The difference is overwhelming... and they look so realistic!"
While he was curiously examining the goblins from a distance, the last goblin in their group finally stepped into the plain. However, this particular goblin was carrying something...
As 'she' entered Dian's line of sight, his smile froze and his eyes widened in shock
"A woman?"
