[Host can now access the system status]

[Name: Raziel Sonoma]

[Race: Human??]

[Bloodline: Human, Half–Angel, ???]

[Innate Ability: Devour]

[Fragments: 0/1000]

[ Attributes ]

[Strength: 5] [Agility: 3] [Stamina: 1]

[Vitality: 10] [Intelligence: 14]

[Perception: nil]

His cold eyes went through the screen floating before him. He couldn't help but frown upon seeing his stats.

"Seems I have a lot of work to do."

His strength had been greatly diminished, sealed by whatever the bracelet was, leaving him as a pathetic mortal once again.

He had just taken a few steps when he heard a deep, low growl that echoed across the area. From the dark, a large figure walked forward, revealing its grotesque frame.

Five meters tall, its bloated body was covered with large eyes which flickered in unison. At the front of his wide torso were bunch of limbs ending with deadly claws.

It seemed one of the dwellers of this realm had finally found its way to the centre of the disturbance.

Raziel stared at the large creature, which slowly circled him as if eyeing its prey.

"Y'know... there's a saying... curiosity killed the cat." He finally muttered, a subtle frown forming across his face as he straightened his back.

[A formidable creature of the dark has appeared before you... Failure to defeat the creature will lead to your demise...]

Tsk. I know... I dont plan on dying so soon, he muttered, clenching his fist tightly.

[The creature is levels above you... do you wish to activate the amplifier skill?]

A screen popped across his face, displaying a notification.

[Amplifier (lvl1): Doubles all Host stats for a limited period of time]

[Time limit: 5 minutes]

[Cooldown time: 30 minutes]

[Host can only use the skill 3/3 times a day to avoid over straining his fragile body]

Clenching his fist tightly, he finally gave in to the system request. "Alright, give it to me. Let's see what this system can do."

[Amplifier skill activated!]

Raziel felt a surge in strength once the skill was activated. He had no time to relish the feeling as the creature finally made its move.

Letting out a loud shriek, it Leapt forward, swinging its deadly claws at the little figure before him.

Raziel barely evaded in time, rolling across the ground. A silver sword instantly appeared in his palms as he prepared for the charging creature.

"A Demic... it's just a Spawn-grade" He thought with calculating eyes. It won't be hard to handle with this body.

Having reincarnated into this world and born into a major clan, Raziel was well aware of the Demics, strange dark creatures that roam the world.

"I wonder how they are gonna react when they find out I'm still alive." He muttered staring at the grey sky with a sigh

Letting out an intimidating roar, the abomination charged forward once again.

"Alright, lets get this done."

Swinging his sword a couple of times across the air, Raziel finally charged forward.

Sliding underneath the charging beast, he thrust his sword upwards, easily slashing through its underbelly.

Dark purplish blood sprayed over his face as he slid out. The creature staggered a few steps forward, letting out a loud shriek before crashing to the ground.

Walking towards it in slow, steady steps, he brought his sword down, piercing through its head.

Right now, he was in a pocket dimension, the home of these creatures.

"With my knowledge, I'll be able to get out of here and greatly increase my strength along the way." He said, flicking the blood off his sword.

[You've defeated a Spawn creature–Grade 5 Demic]

[1/1000 fragments]

"What's this now?" Raziel muttered with a frown.

Swiping the notification from his view, he finally focused on the dead creature.

"I was able to unseal Devour... and make it the innate ability of this body. That's one successful accomplishment." He muttered with a faint smile.

Calmly placing his palms on the body of the creature, he muttered just one word.

"Devour."

A darkish glow erupted from his hand, wrapping around the creature's body as it slowly began to come undone, turning into streams of energy that flowed into Raziel.

Within minutes, nothing was left of the once mighty creature.

[You've devoured a spawn]

[+1 strength, +2 agility, +1 vitality]

It was too good to be true. With his devour powers, he would be able to grow quicker and regain his previous strength.

[ATTRIBUTES]

[Strength: 6(12)] [Agility: 5(10)] [Stamina: 1(2)]

[Vitality: 11(22)] [Intelligence: 14(28)]

[Perception: nil]

These were his attributes with the Amplifier skill still active along with the stats he got from devouring the creature.

Raziel stared at the floating screen for a moment, slowly catching his breath. He felt an exhilarating rush of energy in his body, washing away any hint of tiredness.

He finally raised his head, staring at the jungle metres away from the withered region.

He knew there would be more of these dark creatures within the jungle now attracted to his presence.

[Three minutes and some few seconds left for the Amplifier skill to be deactivated]

Letting out a sigh, Raziel finally spoke. "Alright. Show me my skills and abilities."

[Skills & Abilities]

[Angelic skills]

[Amplifier (lvl 1): Doubles host stats for a limited time]

[Regeneration (lvl 1): Host can heal wounds and physical pain sustained in battle. Ability works best when the Host has a vast stream of energy]

[Innate Abilities]

[Essence absorption: Absorb the lifeforce of living or defeated foes]

[Skill fusion: If multiple absorbed skills are compatible, they can be fused to form a new skill]

[Devour mark: Place a mark on a foe that slowly drains their essence. Can be stacked]

Raziel absorbed all the information with a glance. "Alright. Time for a hunt." He muttered with a smile.

Crouching slightly, he exploded forward, running through the withered region and toward the vast jungle.

...

Two figures slowly made their way across a vast hall filled with dazzling white lights. One was a young man with dark hair falling across his shoulders, his body draped in a long white robe. The other was a young lady with wavy silver hair cascading down her back like a waterfall. Her body was accentuated by a purple robe, which clung to the contours and curves of her body.

Finally, they stopped before a huge steel door. The young man knocked softly on it before taking a step back.

"Come."

The voice, loud and booming, was heard by both. The man slowly opened the door and walked into the dark room lit up by candles burning in pale blue flame.

Both continued forward, arriving before a figure who sat cross-legged amid several lit candles.

"Father." They dropped to their knees, greeting the figure.

Rising from the ground, the man stared at the young lady for a moment before speaking.

"The trial was a success." He began with a high voice tinged with pride. "All the children made it through except... except one." His voice lowered at the end.

"We lost Eldar's son in the trial." The man said with a bow.

The room was envolped in a suffocating silence for a few seconds before the figure finally spoke.

"And his body? Did you retrieve his body?" His heavy gaze landed on the young lady.

The young lady stared at her brother with wide eyes. "N–no, Father." She answered quickly, her face turning pale from the chilling presence.

"Bring me... his body." The figure cold voice reverberated over the room.

"Y–yes, Father!" Both said in unison, bowing once more.

Walking out of the room, both continued down the white hall, their pale expression slowly regaining colour.

"At a moment, I thought he was going to lash out." The lady said, trying to smile but failed outright.

"Curse that Eldar and his damned kid. Even in his death, he's still causing us trouble." The man muttered with a frown.

"Don't be so cruel to the poor kid, Algar. At least he could finally get some rest."

"Tsk. In his next life, he shouldn't try coming into the Shindo clan." The man retorted with a scoff.

They made their way out of the grand hall in silence. Stopping at the large door, the lady let out a sigh. "I'll prepare some guards to retrieve his body," she said, walking away from Algar.

"I do pity you, Avina." Algar said with a faint smile. "I'd hope you see a body to retrieve. But given how that place is... if you as much see his finger, I would be greatly surprised."

"Yeah, yeah. You focus on your job, and I'll focus on mine." Avina said, her cold voice ringing over the area.
