Chapter 97 - A Perfect Ending

As the head of Oscorp, Harry had already been in charge for three full years.

Although he wasn't a scientific mind like his father Norman, he still possessed the vision a leader needed.

When Peter placed the short write-up for the Optical Microscope Glasses in front of him, he had already approved of the idea.

Different positions led to different perspectives.

Peter only saw the value of the product itself.Harry saw its derivative value.

Indeed, the product's direct profit—even if Oscorp pushed, produced, and sold it at full capacity—would only bring in a few million per month.

For Oscorp, that was merely a small infusion of blood.

Barely enough to cover the monthly maintenance costs of a few advanced laboratories.

But this invention also represented progress in biology and new-materials science.

Producing something like this would send a message to the market:Oscorp's research capabilities still exist.

Once that message got out, Oscorp's stock price could begin to recover.

For a publicly listed company, stock price was often more important than profit.

Otherwise, why would so many companies go public even at a loss, no matter how much money they had to burn?

But—

If the Optical Microscope Glasses had only mildly surprised Harry, then the design blueprint for theSPC-120703 High-Molecular Biomass Composite Fiber Material, along with Peter's industry-outlook report, utterly shocked him.

Peter hadn't even finished writing, and Harry had already concluded:

If Oscorp could secure this technology, it would absolutely rise again.

Biomass composite materials.

In Peter's era, this wasn't exactly new.

But in this early 21st-century world, it was an entirely fresh field of study.

For example—It was completely environmentally friendly, because biomass was naturally biodegradable.Environmentalists would embrace it without hesitation. It matched the global trend perfectly. It was standing at the very front of the era's winds.

It was reusable, low-cost, and could even replace car components with safer, greener alternatives.

That was the nature of composite materials—they could be tweaked with different formulas to gain different properties for different applications.

Harry could practically see Oscorp's stock hitting continuous limit-up streaks.

With this breakthrough, he had confidence he could rebuild Oscorp into a 100-billion-level corporation within a few years—maybe even more.

Harry's hands trembled with excitement. He clutched the thin sheet of paper tightly, as though afraid it would fly away—yet didn't dare apply too much force, terrified he might accidentally tear it.

"Harry?"Peter had just finished writing the final section.

Harry suddenly reached out and grabbed Peter's hand."Brother, say no more. We're brothers for life!"

Peter: "Huh?"

He and Flint were both the type who couldn't handle emotional stuff like this.He had no idea how valuable these few sheets of paper were to Harry.

Especially since, when he had shown this to Tony Stark, Stark hadn't reacted half as dramatically.

But for Peter, this was a good sign.

The greatest wish of "Bully Spider-Man" was to reconcile with Harry—and now he had done it.

A happy ending.

Peter left feeling genuinely satisfied.

As the condition for joining Oscorp as a technical partner, Harry generously gave him 20% of the shares.

That was no small amount.

Several years ago, when the first Green Goblin, Norman Osborn, massacred Oscorp's shareholders, all of their shares were either reclaimed by certain entities and reassigned, or inherited by their families.Over the past two years, Harry had slowly repurchased some of them, but he still controlled only about 60%.

Giving Peter 20% meant risking the loss of absolute controlling authority.

It was the highest level of trust.

And a genuine gesture of goodwill.

Even though Oscorp was declining, that 20% stake was still worth 4 billion.

Bully Spider-Man went from broke student + part-time worker straight to billionaire overnight.

But Peter could only help Harry to this point.

Whether he would become a wealthy Spider-Man or fall back to zero would depend on Bully Spider-Man himself.

At this moment, Peter was preparing to leave this world.

But suddenly, an idea flashed through his mind, and he acted on it.

He closed his eyes.Moments later, a faint, transparent figure drifted out of Bully Spider-Man's body.

"It actually worked?!"Peter floated in midair, staring at himself in surprise.

He was in the same astral projection form Strange had once forced him into.

In simple terms—a soul form.

He wasn't using this because he had mastered it, but because his previous state was already the entanglement of his soul with Bully Spider-Man's, crossing worlds.

Perhaps there were deeper mysteries involved.

But as he chose to leave this world, he separated his soul completely from Bully Spider-Man's—resulting in this momentary form.

Whoosh—

Peter's soul appeared for only an instant before vanishing from this universe entirely.

Bully Spider-Man regained full control of his body.He sensed something and looked upward—toward the direction Peter disappeared.

"Peter?"Harry had been enthusiastically discussing plans with him and called out when he saw his expression change.

Peter turned back and smiled."Harry, I'm not really interested in managing the company. I'll take dividends as a technical shareholder—you'll still have full management authority. And whenever I have time, I'll stay in the lab and work on research that benefits us."

Harry stared at him for a long moment, then broke into a wide smile. He stood up and hugged Peter tightly."Thank you, Peter."

"We're friends, aren't we?"Peter patted his shoulder—and quietly echoed in his own heart:

Thank you, Peter.

Peter's soul traveled across countless universes in an instant, returning to his own body in Earth-199999.

He sat up in bed and checked the time—it was already midnight.

Outside, he heard rain.

He got up quietly, walked to the window, and peered outside.Something felt… different.

At the same time—

Somewhere in New York, shrouded in darkness and rain—

A single drop of black rain appeared in midair. It fell with the rest of the rainwater, striking the ground and splashing upward.
