Davina's POV
A few days had passed since I became a mother, and the role felt more natural than I'd ever imagined.
My arms throbbed slightly from cradling the baby for hours, but I welcomed the ache. Nothing mattered beyond this moment. My son had just fallen asleep next to me, his small chest moving in steady rhythm.
I was still adjusting to this new reality.
My eyes remained locked on him, absorbing every minute feature of his face. His button nose. The soft curls already sprouting on his scalp.
The way his brow furrowed in sleep, as if he was already contemplating life's complexities. That expression made me grin. He was flawless. My tiny wonder.
My entire world.
The door creaked open as Chase entered quietly. Our mother and sisters trailed behind him. I glanced up. Mom's expression brightened instantly as she approached me.
Mom clasped my hands between hers. "Congratulations Davina. How are you feeling?"
