Chapter 1 - Reincarnation

Under the clear blue sky on a cool Friday afternoon, wandered a dark-haired boy lost in the vastness of his mind.

Before the class stood a lanky but overly dedicated youthful female teacher surrounded by the walls of a very unenthusiastic classroom.

Her frame was one to underestimate and easy to misjudge especially at first but her sharp words was what all declared her the greatest weapon.

Zayn just sat comfortably on his seat, at thought drowning in the myriad of work he had on him.

Frankly from his perspective, despite being a recognized genius, attending school was an unreasonable waste of precious time.

He had already concluded all the syllables of the grade above his and basically knew all what the teacher taught and was to teach.

Hence never paying attention in class was a calculated risk he was always willing to take.

But the only kink in his routine was the well known expression on his face whenever he zoned too far out.

This face many of his classmates and teacher were quite familiar with and constantly look out for during boring lessons.

"Zayn! Zayn!! Zayn!!!!", his science teacher, Mrs Lin called out to him snapping him back into the classroom.

She looked pissed off and quite visibly peeved, furrowing her brows in the manner she always did whenever someone was absent-minded in her class.

"Mr Zayn. How many times do I have to tell you? The classroom is not your personal bedroom", she scolded fiercely.

"As punishment, can you please come and complete the solution on the board? What chemicals can we add to this alcohol to give it a sweet smell?" She asked confidently in absolute sureity that she had gotten him and perhaps hoped that he'd learn from this in the future.

Zayn blinked indifferently and stood up from his seat with a swag of confidence.

"Ethanoic acid, Ma'am", he answered almost immediately, still favoring manners.

"C-correct", she stammered, realizing her blunder.

Her attempt to ridicule Zayn had amusingly back fired. She stood in both shock and shame before angrily shrugging it off and continuing with the rest of her class.

This spectacle didn't stop him though from retreating back to his zone. He liked alone time and a little birdy assured him that he wouldn't be disturbed for the rest of this lecture.

The lectures progressed on and not too long after, the final bell sounded and school was over.

The teacher though hadn't finished but Zayn already had his cross bag packed and saddled on, ready to leave.

"I'm heading out now. Have a nice weekend, Mrs Lin", he greeted as he walked out of the class unrestricted while the rest of his mates remained captive to the spearing eyes of their teacher.

He walked out of the school and onto the pavement buried deep in his phone, organizing his overweight to-do-list.

"Men, how did I get myself tangled in so much" he said already commencing the first task on his list.

'First, I think Cal's website is gonna need a bit of fine-tuning and then–', he thought unaware of what was going on around him.

He had been so consumed in his work that he hadn't noticed when he stepped off the pavement and onto the main road.

Pulling him out of his hypnosis was the blaring honk of a giant trailer, freezing him in fear with its blazing speed.

And the next thing he heard after a blink was a loud thud sound and then everything went black.

***

After hours of unintended napping, Zayn finally aroused, sharply stung with a mild charge in his breath.

He jerked up, almost as if he had been having a terrible nightmare and steadily his palpitating pants slowly died down to a gentle sigh of relief.

Where was he?

His eyes roved around the area, searching through the room in an attempt to determine where he might be.

Amid trying, he noted something unpopularly distinct. Everything he was surrounded by bore a touch of archaism and obsoleteness but surprisingly fancy and well organized for something so last y...

The craftsmanship wasn't bad either.

A gentle touch of old-fashioned transformed into an praise-worthy idol of remark.

But then a migraine struck, then intensified, pulsating through every nerve in his body.

It got so bad that the more he resisted the flow, the worse the pain pierced. Pain-driven, he loosened the bars and allowed a free flow of the enigmatic stimulus.

Instantly, he had an answer to his question provided by the timely mental feed.

With the flashes of memory and information, it didn't take him long to figure out that he had been reincarnated.

Trying to wrap his head around the whole ordeal, taking in the entire development, naturally he scratched around the back of his head.

In a flash, a pain lanced electrically through his entire body taking its eruption from that point.

Bandages!

He had bandages strapped all over his frame.

They ignited so much pain. How could he not have felt this before?

Beneath the bandages were bruises and burns, dominating nearly ninety percent of his entire body.

He couldn't move. Not one inch. A breath felt equal to a punch.

As he contented with the pain, the door to the room he was in gently arched open and a young girl walked in.

She looked like a goddess. Her eyes shimmered a crystal glister of frozen ice and sparkling in sync with hair akin to the sun, cascading beautifully below her back.

Her dress was a flawless design of the well known white and black maid outfit but somehow she made it look even more mesmerizing.

"I see you are awake, my lord," she greeted.

Vigorously ripped by pain he couldn't put words together for a response.

"Let me help you with that," she smiled, noticing his struggle.

"Hold still," she instructed, stretching both her arms towards him.

A brilliant shimmer of dotted yellow light engulfed Zayn, almost immediately assuaging the pain.

"There. Is that better?" She asked with even more warmth in her caring smile.

"Ya, that's better. Thanks," he responded.

"Glad I could help," she bowed before taking her humble leave but was unexpectedly halted by Zayn, clenching her intently by the hand behind.
