Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The sacrifice ritual

Chapter 11: The sacrifice ritual

From behind a tree, Adam watched everything unfold without taking a single step.

His eyes narrowed and his brow furrowed as he watched Tang Wulin, unconscious on the ground, and Na'er, crying nonstop.

"No, the story shouldn't be like this. Something is wrong, terribly wrong." Adam shifted his gaze to the young man who was supposed to be acting like a gangster and a background character.

He was supposed to act as a suspension bridge for Tang Wulin and Na'er, and would retreat the moment they learned of Tang Wulin's identity as a spirit master.

Adam sensed an uneasy feeling from that young man. His frivolous actions and unrestrained desire on his face were truly like a criminal on the loose.

He couldn't feel any aura from that young man, only the fact that he seemed rather unique compared to usual.

"A soul master? No, a soul master wouldn't waste their time on two brats with no background whatsoever. Besides, I don't sense the slightest movement of soul power within his body."

This is rather strange. The story shouldn't have progressed this way unless there were some factors I hadn't considered.

Adam glanced at Tang Wulin for a moment and shook his head.

He couldn't appear and help Tang Wulin mainly because the Spectator pathway and the Secret Supplier pathway didn't have any combat power in sequence 9.

Only after sequence 7 would he have the ability to fight others. Sequences 9 and 8 of this pathway could even be said to have zero combat power.

He left this place, leaving the two of them behind, as Tang Hao would surely take care of them, and it was also the perfect moment for them to grow closer.

The fact that Tang Wulin possessed a golden dragon king core in his body was something that would catch Na'er's attention without her even realizing it.

On the street, Adam could glimpse Teacher Lin Ximeng and Tang Ziran, who "coincidentally" passed by. Tang Wulin and Na'er would ultimately be together, regardless of how anyone tried to change this story.

Only by defeating Tang Hao or doing something to this new plane master could he move freely on this planet.

"What an interesting day. First, Tang Wulin falls to the ground and is beaten by someone who's supposed to be a background character, and now there's something fishy about that guy."

But let's put that aside for now. I still have a ritual to complete.

Adam wandered around Aolai City, looking for some items that could be used in the ritual he would perform tonight. Something that could point to the Silver Dragon King, and some dragon-related objects.

Because of her status as the ancestor of all dragons and half of the dragon gods, Adam needed to find something that could directly point at Na'er and not her true self.

So, he simply bought some flowers that could or could not point to the Silver Dragon King, some essential oils, and purified water—or, to be honest, boiled water.

Adam returned to his house and immediately sealed all the doors and windows. In his room, he prepared a simple altar and three candles: one whole candle and the two beside it split in half.

Some hermetic language was written around the altar based on the knowledge of mysticism he had in mind. The flowers and essential oils, and the sacrificial object were some chocolate and candy he bought on the street.

Well, Na'er was a child, after all. He couldn't just sacrifice some blood or a human being to a child with a high-sequence status, right? The point of the sacrifice was for the entity to accept his sacrifice and receive reciprocation from that secret entity.

Adam dressed up in a black robe and covered his face with a cheap mask he bought on the street.

After opening the spiritual wall, Adam closed his eyes and began the ritual.

He didn't know the honorific name that could refer to Na'er specifically, not to the silver dragon king or her true self, but to Na'er.

It would be a disaster if the one who answered my call was the Silver Dragon King and her consciousness suddenly awakened.

So, Adam chose to accurately point to Na'er rather than the Silver Dragon King Gu Yuena.

"The silver dragon king other consciousness.

A great being born from the scheme of others

A mistake that should never have been born."

"The future silver dragon princess, Na'er, please accept my sacrifice to you… Please grant me your gaze and let me meet you in this physical world."

Adam kept repeating all the sentences over and over. Even if his throat was sore and his lips felt dry, Adam didn't stop the ritual.

Seconds… minutes… hours… Adam didn't stop and continued to mobilize his spirituality.

In the middle of the night, Adam felt a strange movement of elementals unique to the Douluo world. A space element moved as if opening a gate and devoured all the chocolates and candies he had placed in the center of the altar.

"It Works!"

Adam shouted happily in his heart as he felt something being digested inside his body. The accumulation was not small, but also not too large.

Besides that, there was also a joy that emerged from the depths of his heart as his sacrifice had been accepted by the entity he pointed to. A feeling of craving more, of performing it again and again, another ritual that would attract the attention of that being.

An uncontrollable desire that made him almost insane. He wanted more and more attention from the silver dragon princess, Na'er. Hearing her knowledge and preaching made her a role model in this world.

At this moment, Adam understood why the Aurora Order was so insane and fanatical. "These feelings are not something a normal human can endure. No wonder there are no traitors or ill intentions within the Aurora Order. If all of their followers felt this way, no one would betray them, even if they were called terrorists."

Adam gritted his teeth and fell to the ground. He was truly afraid that if Na'er were right in front of him right now, he would fall to the ground and not be able to lift his head.

"No, I can hold it. Na'er isn't someone who controls the hanged man pathway; she's just another entity I'm exploiting." Not something I should worship and admire…'

Adam gritted his teeth and cogitated several times until his mind calmed down. The urge and desire in his heart had subsided, but there were some lingering feelings clouding his thoughts about Na'er.

The secret suppliant beyonder characteristic in his body was further digested, and the feeling of calmness became more obvious.

"Finally… It's over." Adam smiled contentedly and collapsed to the floor. His consciousness slowly drifted into a seemingly deep sleep.

The next day, Adam woke up and saw that the candles had burned out all night. Strangely, the right side was completely burned, and the melted wax was on the altar, but the other one had no residue.

"What a lovely morning, glad that good feeling in my heart is gone." Adam breathed a sigh of relief.

He didn't want to become a servant of some silver dragon king and become his mindless and devout believer, like all the Aurora orders do.

Adam only knew about Na'er's nickname, the Silver Dragon Princess, because he read the wiki about her powers. He also read some explanations and spoilers online that she would become a clown in the original story.

A clown who mistakes his brother's love for her, a fool who can't even differentiate between familial affection and love between men and women.

"I bet if she drinks clown potions, they will melt instantly in her mouth."

"But she's not qualified to be a clown. A clown is someone who knows little about fate and feels helpless in the face of the arrangements fate has made. So they can only smile to cover up their sadness and emotions."

And Na'er is someone who is blind and arrogant enough, a fake clown who is only fit to be a showpiece for others in this drama.
